I broke the nose on my starter yesterday, the engine seemed to kick when it broke only the second time it kicked in the time i have had it. I'm going to order a gear reduction starter and have the direct rebuilt for a spare. No shims and have already replaced the flexplate as it had broken bolts...
I don't know what it looks like, but if your local outdoor power equipment dealer is a good guy he might have something that he can match up, power eq has springs for everything.
the hardest one to access when I did mine was the pass rear, I reached thru the wheel well with about a 24'' extension all the others were uneventfull.
I'm thinking AM/FM CD. I used to put an 8 track in my Deuce at summercamp with the Guards and play Jimmie Hendrix's version of the Star Spangled Banner . would tie into the first battery.
