I would be in also. I believe 2.5 ton lockout hubs are like $500? so somewhere along those lines would work for me.

Help starting 5 ton in DC for $100 cash

Not to sound like an a$$ but you really need to read up on your truck before messing around with it. I know its fun to get a new toy, but if you don't know what you are doing, you could get seriously hurt. As far as the batteries go, 1000 CCA is the reserve they have, more is always better for...

Help starting 5 ton in DC for $100 cash

You can also try a small propane torch aimed at the air intake to warm up the incoming air and that will help a little. Make sure the glow plug is hooked up to 12V only, not 24V, otherwise its probably fried. If you are not getting the fuel pressure gauge to show any pressure when pumping the...

Fined for running WMO (not me)

I have an idea when/if I ever build my "5 ton Willys" project. The space between the rear frame rails is long and wide enough to put some sort of fuel storage tank. Fill the regular tank with legal diesel and use the "hidden" tank for all of your WMO/WVO and alternative fuels. Just a thought.

    5-Ton Worth my Trouble

What do you want to use it for? An actual use or just "to have and look at" (like alot of us :p ). The radiator would be expensive to replace or repair. Are you going to use the plow and dump bed? You could sell those off and make some of your money back. Why doesn't the engine run?

816 stuck in Louisiana's finest gumbo mud

Why didn't you use the "mud spades" you had up there on the boom to help stop you from going backwards? Did you air down before you went in? Looks like fun!!:-P

    Deuce export question

I have research this before and the answer is YES! You can export these trucks but only to certain countries and there is a lot of paper work involved and it costs $$$. Not sure on the state department thing but if you are gonna try to export, use a reputable company that has done this before.
