I still have a set of genuine GM inner fenders that I bought 20 years ago. I never installed them. I was at Carlisle and seen the GM ones selling for $300. each. I thought well in 20 years I could cash in.
No cheating. Frame off is frame off. Not rolling chassis.
Do it now you will never be that far again. You already done the hard part. May I suggest new springs. you will be thankful you did.
I would NOT want one as a daily driver. My Wife would not tolerate that set up. Not in Florida or Pennsylvania. Even with A/C it is past it's prime for comfort IMHO. I love all mine as utility vehicles but other then that they fall far short. Used for the intended design. Awesome without fail...
I know the feeling. Hear it all the time. I have to finish a few nice ones and sell them. But the cheap ones don't sell. how can I sell frame offs and break even? Original ones don't sell. Must be a see who can pay the most game on the government auctions. Have a great day.
I know the feeling. I have an all stock 1987 M1028 that I listed and offered for sale. Asking $5500. negotiable and never heard boo. I just keep using it. I have off road tires on it for off road use. I mean why have a 4wd and not use it off road? Not abuse just use. I had Easter Find completely...
I removed the plow from the Silverado pick up today. I kept the plows on the CUCV's. No snow removal just using the plow as a push assist on the cab chassis that are stuck in 6" ice holes. They froze fast to the ground. I had a guy come to pick up a finished truck. He came walking back about an...
Yesterday brought 50* weather and an opportunity to get outside after work and do some garage clean up. I am getting ready for a busy season of rebuilding a few CUCV trucks. I have 2 M1009's to complete this season. 1 is my decade wreckage project and the other will be my crew cut conversion on...
That's right because that's they way they belong. :). I know a guy that has trucks like that. They all work better that way IMHO. I mean 22 years and counting of private ownership. Driving them 70 MPH loaded and empty and still going. Have a great day. Glad to hear DUDE is still to your liking...
This picture is where on the NP 205 case the PTO in the first picture goes. Now before I get in trouble for I don't know what. I will let it at that. I can not tell if the 6 bolt holes on the PTO will line up but I think they will. I installed a lot of PTO's on JATCO transmissions. A lot of the...
It could be right. I can look when I get home. I have a few NP 205 transfer cases in my stash. I will look and get a picture. Unless someone beats me to it. Ready set GO.
That is a PTO in the first picture. Hard to tell what it will fit from the picture. I used to install them on all types of vehicles. We do not make dump trucks anymore because of the liability. That liability thing is sure killing a lot of business. That PTO needs precise installation and...
Let this serve as a documented example on what NOT to do with the stock pintle hook. I had a tractor stuck in the field and tied on with the Bubba Rope and a chain. It was fine till the strap got tight. The tractor came out about the same time the hitch failed. Nothing was hurt but the hitch and...
Same old same old. I was out at the wood lot today cutting and splitting. As soon as I had all the equipment lined up and running the rain began to fall. Thus I lost my helpers. They don't work in the rain. Think they will get sick. Must be a millennial thing. I worked in rain all my life never...
Thanks you answered my question. Chaski the drawings are not very helpful to me. If it don't fit I am OK with that. I am not going thru the trouble to remove it and measure it. Thank you. He is buying the transmission and was telling me they are the same. I thought not but I left him talk. He...
Reminds me of the History Channel where the US B17 / B29 flying fortresses bombed the ball bearing plants in Germany. With out bearings you can build nothing.
WOW. Who would have guessed. It's made in China. That China thing is always a controversial subject here. But I do agree. It is all fixed and back in business. My goal was met before 3PM. And I did get out my cordless Milwaukee grease gun and greased every fitting on the lube order. No matter if...
The temperature hit a whopping 25* today. Check out that quality part. Like I always say. I don't care where the part is made. I learned a long time ago. They are all about the same. I called NAPA. I ask for brand name this is what they stock. I am in business. Down time is lost income. I will...
Something was popping and grinding this AM. A little laying on the ground and running around it tight circles revealed the right axle U joint has worn out. Before you get all brand name and they are junk. It is a Spicer Dana grease-able U joint. It has been on the truck about 2 years. Same time...
