WOW. I never knew I could over maintain equipment. But either way I look at it. Parts are parts. I have some plow trucks for over 20 years and managed to keep them going strong. I have a Milwaukee cordless grease gun and when plowing slush and...
bedliner material is toxic in the cab of your truck. it will continue to off gas forever
Who told you that? We spray many vehicles with Line X, Rhino, What ever the customer ask for. It dries in a few seconds and I never smelled a thing in any of mine. Maybe similar smell as a rubber floor mat...
I just use Autozone. They have never failed me. Grease is the secret word. And grease it often. It's old even with new parts. It likes grease weekly. I found parts now a days to be parts. Whether I buy NAPA or GM. Off shore manufacturing is the way of the world. Good Luck.
Question for Rustystud. We have been salting , plowing and spreading cinders for a month again and the second transmission has lost the (reverse band) reverse. I think it is because the TH400 transmission is not capable of putting a load on reverse. Rustystud any truth to that? Seems logical...
You get what you pay for when it comes to tires. The Goodyear Duratrak are the best traction off road and on road for the $$. IMHO I use them on all my plow trucks. They last the longest and seem to get less flats on a commercial assembly plant property. I have Goodyear MTR's on my M1009 that I...
They all do the same thing. Even a snow plow relay would work. As long as they pull the relay up and connect the 2 big studs they are good. Unless I am missing something. Could be.
At this age? It is common for most vehicles to be a Toyota or another Chevrolet truck. I say it needs a complete overhaul. But what do I know? Have a great day. Really it is time to be gone over by a professional.
At this point I would remove the transmission myself and have them rebuild it. That would take about $250. off the price. They are fairly easy to remove with a floor jack and a piece of plywood. But I say have it done right or do it twice and pay twice or more then it would cost to do it right...
During a big rainstorm last fall 2017 a Mulberry tree fell in the creek behind the In-laws house creating a massive dam and flooding several acres upstream. It has been very muddy and I have been busy. I used the M1009, a Bubba rope and a chain saw to get it opened up. We have good flowing water...
I have been using urethane adhesive more 20 tears to hold the rear window into the sash. Do make sure as a word of caution you put the sash on the correct way. I done it once. I was fortunate enough that the adhesive had not set up yet and turned it around. I have had no problems with them ever...
I am not sure what the terminology is but it is normal. I had a few NOS rears in GM crates and sold one to a previous neighbor that had a 1963 Chevrolet C20 pick up. The rear was bad in his truck and he wanted one of my new rears. And at the time $400. was a steal. He added all the proper mounts...
Rod retaining clip? How about a better description and maybe a diagram depicting this item. I may be able to help. I have tons of parts. I helped someone else out with one of these before. Is it a sprag star washer? I even see New Zealand. Let me know.
I am surprised you still have teeth in your head. They are solid steel on steel motor mounts from looking at the picture. Why are you afraid all 135 HP in the CUCV are going to flop the engine over if you accelerate too fast? That truck has enough rattles it don't need solid motor mounts. Now I...
That must be another one of them Dodge / Ram things that I will never understand. Why have tires outside the body lines slinging all the road dirt up on everything. Oh well it isn't my truck. But when I get behind and beside them in bad weather it is my concern. I smile as the LEO gets them to...
There has been paraffin in diesel forever. That is nothing new. Power Service diesel fuel conditioning is good to add if needed. 911 from Power Service is just to be used sparingly. But I would lean towards an injection pump issue. I had a 4WD diesel Luv truck in 1981 and it gelled and like...
3 weeks. Now you know how thrilled I am after 3-5 years and they glow and start. Even after sitting wrecked for 10 years I had an M1009 started and running. Good News. Glad it all worked out for you. I am still hibernating in Pennsylvania. Planning for a spring break out. I did happen across 2...
I watched a man that never 4 wheeled before climb a power line in an M1010. It was very stable and if it were a dually in would not have went the places the single wheeled vehicles went. I think the intention is if the front fits the back will follow. Made is KISS that way. I can only imagine...
