Bob 5 ton with 2.5 hardware?

You are assuming he has an LDS engine in it. However, even if that was the case the trucks equipped with the LDS up front had a much lighter spring rate then the trucks that came with the NHC 250. That is why when you go from a gasser which is close to the same weight as an LDS you have to...

Bob 5 ton with 2.5 hardware?

if you change the fronts to 2.5 ton they will go flat under the additional engine weight. not a good idea.

Bob 5 ton with 2.5 hardware?

I put 2.5 ton rear springs on all of my bobbed 5 ton's and trailer springs on the deuces. The ride is much better that way.

5 ton rear axle seal fix procedure

I am going to share a trade secret with all of you, this is something that we used to change inner wheel seals in the field. Step by step DO NOT DISMOUNT THE TIRES FROM THE TRUCK, IF YOU ARE SUPER SINGLED THIS WILL NOT HELP YOU!! 1.remove outer bolts holding in axle and remove axle. 2. remove...

5 ton Bogies under a deuce

maybe i did not put it the right way up above. I am not recommending swapping 5 ton running gear, yes the frames are the same width and the rest of the hardware in the bogie will be reused to mount the deuce axles into the 5 ton bogie so everything should swap right over. You would have to get...

5 ton Bogies under a deuce

with all of the 16's under a deuce questions that seem to resurface time and time again, why couldn't you slide the bogie from a 5 ton underneath a deuce and take some leaves out of the pack? sure beats cutting stretching and welding the dogbones in my opinion, especially for the "less...

Bought my first Deuce, a bobber from a SS member

I am pretty sure those are OD iron wheels. For those asking about dishing the wheels in you cannot do it with the stock wheels and big tires without tubbing the rear wheel wells 4"on each side and that is assuming that the rear hubs have already been flipped. Thanks again for your business! Eldgen

    M813 wheel studs.

You are right, my bad, I would think that if you had access to a disk sander or belt sander you should be able to do it with the buds, at $3 a piece for the studs and the agony of dealing with 5 ton hardware I would try the buds first if it were me.

    M813 wheel studs.

He has a GOOD point, the bud nuts will allow the center of the rim to FLEX and in time crack, I had not fhought of this till his post how do you figure? the hemtt wheels are beveled on both side so it can be mounted dish in or dish out. When you use the buds on the rear the duals fit...
