We've gone to Stoddard Wells ( Victorville) the last two times. The area is big enough for Deuces to be able to roam freely with no restrictions. Stoddard has more trails and roads to explore than we have fuel

Josh, the service I used is in Monrovia, 2 hours away by Deuce, which you'll need to bring to have the Vin # inspected. I had sf97 in hand when I went and was out of there done and registered in 45 min. I would think there should be a service closer to you. Try the local phone...
With respect to registration, please DO NOT take it to DMV to register! The DMV doesnt know what a MV is and may/will tell you things that will make you sad/angry. Take your truck to a private DMV service, they charge 50 - 75 bucks on average and will take good care of you! Welcome to the site...
jpinst, first thing nice truck. Yes Will Wagner is a diesel mechanic ( in my opinion the best) he's not too far from you ,maybe 25- 30 miles to the north. In the fall theres a group of us with Deuces that go for a camping trip to our local desert, you should make it a point to come!We have a...
Glad it worked out! . As for the Dmv, their no differant than any public agency. 5 people lean on shovels (or desks) while 1 person haphazardly works.
In cali it is best to NEVER go to dmv for any MV regs. Go to a local private dmv registration service and pay the 50 to 100 to get your mv registered. They have their own licenced people do the inspection. No sweat
Thanks Dan, thats more info than the Shell guys gave and then some. I did try to search the net on this subject but couldnt find any diffinative answers( but truth be told I sometimes struggle with modern gadgets aua )
Thanks Kenny, the guys out here , including a Shell Oil distributor ( only place I could get GL1) made it sound like it would lock the trans up right away so it had me concerned. Thanks again! Will
I've been told by a couple of respected mechanics in my area not to mix GL1 gear oil with GL5 because it will turn into a tar like goo . That said, does the gov still use GL1 in the trans/ transfer case or do they use GL5 with the MT1 rating? Just to be safe I'm going to drain trans/ transfer...
