The NV4500 isnt ideal for a 1 ton application that may see heavy tows and or loads. They do work great in lighter conversions like jeeps though.

Sounds like those original axles were swapped out. Keep looking for a real M1008

I will be doing both. But I will purchase a used Military 6.2 and keep my rig running until the other motor is rebuilt to my specs.

I will be watching this build. I want to do the same thing for a winter project with my son in our garage. This will be a learning experience for both of us.
