    who sells 24v generators

Why not have your existing 24V generator rebuilt? Problems with generators are often no more serious than cleaning or replacing brushes. I have done it myself several times and it is normally quite easy.

    Hi All

Not much you can do about your age, but you should have no problem getting an MV. Welcome aboard!

    m35a3 radiator hoses

Is there any information printed on the old hoses? I've had good luck finding filter replacements for MVs using data printed on the filters. I've also had good luck with radiator hoses on trucks by taking them to a truck parts supply house and matching them up.

    Heater Core

I have had heater cores replaced by radiator shops in the past, and always for a fair price.

I would replace it. You can find a cheap one very easy.

Better to wait, or just go for it

If you want a W/W, then by all means buy a truck with a winch. However, the most important thing is to get a good mechanically sound truck. Don't rush. You will find a good W/W deuce and be happy. When I bought my deuce, a winch was a must. I ended up buying a deuce from GL and driving it...

    How much work is a

Your friend needs a reality check. My Deuce is very reliable. I drove deuces in the Army (multifuel and gassers) years ago and again all experience shows them to be reliable. You need to remember that these trucks are mostly 40+ years old now. Even so, they are reliable. Getting parts is...

I want to go back to '66 aka RETRO Deuce!

You could narrow it down by comparing your VIN # with others, assuming they are indeed sequential. If it was me, I would trust Carnac.

Congratulatioins! Ditto on never trusting a Deuce fuel gauge - visual inspection only,

Custom front tag for my Deuce

I like the magnetic mounts because they can be easily removed. The ones I use are very well made, with a strong magnet, plastic coated so that it doesn't mar the finish. I got them from Windswept Promotions at Licence Plate Holders - Promote Your Dealership . I went through some poorly made...

    winch and shear pins, ugh!!!

I wouldn't use steel - it is asking for trouble. Sometimes it's difficult to tell how much strain there is even when being careful. I have also heard of some of the aluminum shear pins being made of the incorrect alloy, which is softer. Perhaps this is why some aluminum pins are shearing...

Custom front tag for my Deuce

I think he's OK regarding counterfeit plates, as long as he has a real SC plate displayed on the rear. Could be a different story if he enters a state that does have front plates, but I think he could explain his way out of it. I live in Georgia, which also doesn't have front plates, but I...

It's good to see that you are working your Deuce! Helps earn their keep.

    Saw these Unimogs

I saw five of them at Camp Lejeune on the GL lot several months ago. They had USMC markings on them, and were brand new, not a scratch on them. The GL guy had no idea what was going to happen to them as they had recently arrived on the lot. Unless there is a specific need for a 419, I would...

    oil type

I use John Deere Plus 50 oil which is 0W - 40W synthetic base. I use it in my Deuce and my two John Deere tractors. I'm very satisfied. You should do a search, there is a lot of information posted on SS on this topic.

updated radial tire vs. bias ply tire

I just bought some new tubes for my NDTs that were labelled by the manufacturer as suitable for either bias-ply or radial tubes. These were not NOS.

    12v winch on 24v

Bob, You are correct, of course. I was thinking constant wattage.

    12v winch on 24v

On 24 VDC the current will drop to half what 12 VDC will need. This also means that you can get by with smaller gauge cables to the winch. A friend of mine ran a Warn winch on 24 VDC for years without problems on an M37. He also minimized the duration of pulls, although I don't know if this...

    MEP-002A and -003A main breaker

I have an MEP-003A genset and I have never had the main breaker trip, even with large loads. I have an air compressor with a 5 hp motor and it starts fine without tripping the breaker.
