Historic plate?
I'm going to try to get a regular plate if I can afford it, just to avoid any police hassles. Cities are broke and there are waaaayyy too many bored cops around these parts.
That $180 with Gulfway sounds tempting though...
If you ever get to Kalamazoo, there is a place downtown the has a few.
Just don't turn your back on the owner... He could cheat you if he gave you something. Very untrustworthy.
Hmmm.... I wonder if we can source custom bolts cheaper without the ARP logo.
Studs sound interesting. Are you thinking we would just spot face the cap and maybe clearance the block? I didn't think it was that tight in there on the sides or the bottom of the sleeve.
I'll check some TM's... but I was under the impression the shafts INSIDE were interchangeable to either housing. If you can see inside the crack, these are the different ones, and what they look like... Hope it helps.

You posted the wrong pic. That one is just the upside down view of the drivers side knuckle with a little of the kingpin showing. Maybe someone can tell which joint is in there from that housing... ?
A very large chunk of steel, programming time, and tool time on a big enough CNC could get you one. But that seems a bit far to go...
Kinda makes me wonder about finding a "core" engine to have balanced, magnafluxed, stress relieved, and good quality bolts put in. That way you have it waiting...
395s and the gear kit are on the shopping list! Maybe Santa will be generous... but I doubt it.
Thank you for bumping this... me and a buddy were just talking about this build as a good source of data for beefing up the bottom end, even if you didn't crank the power.
You might want to ask that supplier in different terms.... When I was hunting aluminum for a firearm project I got the same response, then I asked specifically for "Drops." Most suppliers cut their orders... they also have odd ends and such from cutting them called "drops" or "Drop cuttings"...
Wow... I'm only part way through your Pirate 4x4 thread and I am in AWE.
That truck is amazing... The whole thing... the detail of the write up is awesome...
Wow....
Did I mention "Wow?":beer::drool:
All the things I like about that truck...
Bumper... of course
Hub covers
The fender lights
Muffler/fording kit
front pintle hitch
roof rack/antenna mounts
The gun case... maybe not
Hood ornament... ummm... not my flavor, but it fits that truck well.
I do like that... and I couldn't get enough of those pics of Don's when he showed them to me... That double bumper is good looking. Actually, that whole truck looked amazing... tons of details on it that looked like good ideas.
My issue with jerry cans would be keeping them from getting ripped...
There are a LOT of innate issues with pinion brakes... I'm just going to slap the cheapest crap together I can find and do a COUPLE test stops... just to answer the question. I don't advise anyone else be as dumb as me. Even if they work perfectly as EMERGENCY brakes and they cost next to...
Ok, he may want/need maximum clearance... so route it up and make it a siphon line. It will work the same. At the very bottom of the tank it may lose prime.
So, put a valve on the liquid line, and an air valve into the secondary tank set for low pressure. open valve and push air into the...
