Good news is your wife is proficient at digging holes with the excavator...... bad news, graves start out as dug holes.... sell more and quick!

    about 5kw 60hz mep802A generator

If the HZ gage drops suddenly to zero and then the machine dies, that sounds like an electrical shut down, not mechanical engine shut down. If the engine dies due to a mechanical issue the HZ will drop as engine speed decreases. It won't drop instantly to zero and then the engine dies. As for...

    about 5kw 60hz mep802A generator

You need to determine what's causing the gage to peg itself up high before you do anything. It could be the sending unit, could be the gage itself, could be a wiring issue or even an engine problem. I'm having a little bit of a hard time understanding what you are trying to say sometimes. Is the...

MEP003A glow plug relay and alternator location

The Glow plug solenoid / relay is mounted to the rear wall inside the control cube. You can find it in the TM. There are 2 relay / solenoids mounted 1 above the other. One is the glow plug, but don't recall which, I think the bottom one. There is no actual alternator, nor is there an alternator...

    MEP-803A Crank But No Start

Occasionally you can find the real E1074 pumps for sale.... and sometimes you can find Hen's teeth as well.... but it Ain't Easy!

    MEP-803A Crank But No Start

Well be careful, The Carter P74016 as well as the other 24V Airtex numbers are not quite drop in replacements. The E1074 has a right angle built into the top of the pump. The others are all straight through. You need to rig up some 90* adapter fittings to make the straight pumps fit. It also...

    MEP-802a / 803a fuel pump connectors

Most times the old hard copy Molex catalogs would tell you the mating pin series# on the same page as the connector / pins that you located. Maybe they show the same info on-line if you look up the Series / PN of the half you located? But I would also just go with M/F .250" Fast-On connectors...

    MEP-803A Crank But No Start

It sounds like your Aux. pump is working but your primary pump ( next to the radiator on the oil filter side of the engine ) is not. The Aux pump ( hidden inside the fuel tank compartment ) will run anytime the switch is in the aux position and the tank is below about 3/4 full. Guy wants you to...

MEP003A starter grinding on fly wheel than starts

Ah, you have a new style starter without the external linkage. The original starters had external levers and pivot pins, yours looks new and should not have that issue.

    MEP-803A Repair Assistance

Maybe also take a look at the levers on the IP's. When installed they just barely clear the underside of the block without rubbing. If one of the levers got bent up just a tad, it may be rubbing ever so slightly when things expand. Excessive shims under the pumps further reduces the clearance...

MEP003A starter grinding on fly wheel than starts

After your last explanation I'd prob You beat me Tom, I was typing the exact same thing! pivot points tend to stiffen up and cause delayed / improper movement of the bendix and drive gear.

    MEP-803 fuel pump Length discrepancy

This tag L.I.T.D mentioned is normally on the right side of the block forward of the starter and below the alternator. Typically shows the new bore, main and rod bearing sizes.

    about 5kw 60hz mep802A generator

You have to stand in front of it and accurately get a detailed description of exactly what happens as it begins to die, how quickly it dies, and what is happening after it shuts down. That will get us pointed in the right direction. Does the oil pressure gage stay high even after the machine...

My wife is going to kill me... :D

Don't worry.... first time the power goes she'll dig up your corpse and see if she can get you to fire one up to get the lights back on!

803a Oil Leak after new seal ?

2 other things, the seal should have a spring inside the lip on the inside, look at the old one to see if the spring somehow got knocked off. The other thing I have seen is that the crank seals that come with the gasket kits from China are a tad too small on the OD and don't press into the...

    MEP802A Fuse Blowing

Assuming you're talking about the VR Quad fuse mod. that @loosegravel depicted, make sure you have the right fuse in there. needs to be a 3A Slo-blow.... otherwise it won't work right. If the fuse is correct maybe you should ohm out the exciter stator per the TM first? pull off the tin cover on...

Nice find! Just be careful leaving it totally covered for too long. Mice would love to live in such a dry comfortable spot!

Mep-802a aux fuel pump trips breaker?

I have a feeling it's not a matter of a gummed up pump. These pumps are simple magnetic plungers, not rotary motors, so a stuck pump doesn't pull high current like and electric motor's LRC. You probably have a shorted pump or an issue with the float module. Start by unplugging the pump, then...
