What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Brad? Must've caught him on a good day... I've been trying to buy a 923 from him but he insists he's gonna fix it up first..... and I want it as-is..

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Wow. Didn't expect it to be that heavy. I plan on removing the slide out portions of my M934 (floor and ceiling, basically) and permanently keeping it closed... I was expecting some weight savings but... that's substantial.... I might be able to drop 2klbs+ if the entire assembly is near 5 tons...

Channel locks won't press down hard enough to get a good crimp, and if you ARE getting a good crimp with channel locks, then you're using a low quality connector or you're a body builder, heh. Ratcheting crimpers aren't that expensive, only about $30... and if you want to use a tool that you...

Glow plugs draw a current at a certain voltage....depending on glow time. Let's use AC60G since they're popular.... Each draws roughly 9A, so 9 * 8 = 72, so you're looking at about 72A (The 200A I quoted is for the welleman quick start plugs, which can draw ~20A a piece, still a hair less...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Except the load isn't JUST the + line, it's the COMPLETE circuit... back to the ground or negative... So you're looking closer to 15 or 20', and that doesn't take into account what the ground wire is that you have from the battery - to the block... as the block is used as the ground for the...

6ga is insufficient for the glow plug relay if you bypassed the resistor. You will be drawing ~200A through that wire.. I ran a 1 ga cable to the solenoid then a short 1ga jumper to the 12V post .

One of the many reasons I hated living in MD.. Now, inspection? What inspection?! hahah and really, they dinged you for a worn seat? Reminds me of the time they dinged me for having a dash light on.... the idiot had hit the O/D button and the nice 'O/D OFF' light was illuminated in the dash...

'Improvement' is a relative term ;) Modification, revision, or change, would be a more accurate description, IMO.

    PNW Info Thread!

I spent some time with him a couple weeks ago. Despite the situation, and the obvious pain, he was still making jokes...still thinking of others before himself. Godspeed.
