Still on the fence, but trying gimpy. I won't know for sure until probably a couple a days before. Will be primitive, with M35.

I went this route. Ran with just the painted numbers for a while, a cop gave me grief over it. Had a copy of the law in the truck, he didn't care. Got the plates on the truck also now.

Thought it was interesting that the M108 crane has down pressure on the boom. Figured I would figure out a way to use it. Have to take tires off rims, and it sounds like a lot of work.
So I got a piece of wood, piece of steel, threw the tire up on the crane deck, and volia', a tire bead...
Don't forget the front tires have a lot more weight on them than the rears. When towing the M108 home, the front tires were a lot warmer than the rears. The front and rear hubs were the same temperature.
Had plan A for replacing the down boom hose on the M108. Ended up with plan B
Plan A was to cut the old, hard to find, fitting from the steel line. Install a new compression fitting with a swivel end on it, then use a standard hydraulic hose. Then I found out the steel line was 1 1/8 O.D...
The governor is intact, so either the cable drive broke, or someone adjusted it. I bought the manuals off ebay. Found someone in germany that has the rare crane TM, trying to contact him.
I am always on a budget!

To check the relief, hold the boom control lever down when the crane is already all the way down.(might pop a hose if it's already going bad)
Tried the governor, don't think it's working. With the PTO running, the engine revs beyond 1700, using the throttle cable.
Been using third or fourth...
