I bought my wife her own Army truck. It's on her finger.
She lets me play with the deuce and CUCV and she actually likes the Pinzgauer. She also likes the interesting people at the club meetings.
I am a lucky guy.

I feel sorry for the guy, but I agree that he made things a little worse by waiting nine days to get medical attention. He's luck he's not dead or on permanent kidney dialysis.
I'm pretty sure there is a position between "lock" (fully counter clockwise) and "run" (second postion clockwise from "lock") that unlocks the steering wheel, but your suggestion is a good, safe way to prevent glow plug damage.

I shudder to think...
I've heard that the LDS 427 engines are "bad", though no one has ever explained to me why.
Everybody and their uncle owns an M35A2, so I think it would be neat to own and M35A1.
Maybe you could try a shop vac duct-taped down to about 1/2 inch or smaller tubing. The stiffer the tubing or hose the better - otherwise you'll have a hard time directing it.
Just a thought...
Good luck
Bobbing means taking a nicely engineered 6x6 truck, whacking a few feet off the frame, cobbling together some sort of rear suspension, usually with a set of front springs, and re-installing one of the rear axles. The result is a home brew big 4x4.
I prefer trucks in their original form myself...
