There's much more on the to-do list and so far all I've accomplished is to put a quick attach on the loader and run the hoses for a hydraulic snow blower (meant for a low-flow Bobcat).
It's the simplest possible setup in that either the backhoe or the hoses to the front are pressurized depending...
I've done my share of driving motorcycles and vehicles without tops and/or heaters in the snow - which is likely why my body really dislikes such activities these days.
Not quite, Ahab, the Bugeye is full bodied, but the Seven could easily become open wheeled. I've considered unbolting the fenders since they're not legally required here.
Photos? Now you ask, after we got four inches of snow. Not enough to try the snowblower, but a bit much for driving...
Good thinking, Mark. I forgot about those fine machines.
MSMOG, that's in your backyard...would you happen to know where they did end up?
And one of those would be a good source for the partial loader I would like to use as a base for Snow Blower, the Sequel. At least I think that one or two...
Hey, are you insinuating that I should slow down when driving my AH Bugeye, or Lotus Super 7 replica?? They're already quite a bit slower than the 300-hp MGB I recently sold, and there's a limit to how slowly I can drive. On the road, that is.
And speaking of leaving things behind in the rear...
Interesting how the newer 1550L37 has a much more square body and a flat windshield. In comparison, the green (literally) HMMH sports far better aerodynamics, and being smaller it should also handle better.
Now I'm finally starting to understand why Bison is treating his HMMH like a sports car...
A worthwhile option?
Not only could it be a decent anti-theft device (as if a FLU would be easy to steal), but I like to look at it as cruise control for the steering.
Sorry, Biker, but welding and grinding is one thing...videos and such a completely different matter. Guess which one I'm more comfortable with, and have the equipment for?
Besides, I have already rethought the current setup. Either I modify the 'blower's mounting setup (the quick attach) and it...
So what you should be looking for is a good cat.
As far as that No Chew Deterrent in your photo goes, it obviously lives up to its name. Had its intended purpose actually been to deter chewing, it wouldn't say "No" in front of it.
It's alive! Thanks largely to Ahab, who made me ditch some other chores and hook things up for a test run of the snowblower.
Getting to the quick disconnects wasn't all that easy, and with the spare in place would've been harder yet. Still, the 50/50 chance worked out, and the blower is turning...
Now, that is a good idea, FOD. I'm picturing cutting it just a bit to the left of center, leaving the factory hold-downs intact.
Then making tabs for the left (and probably most often removed) part that would go underneath the right half.
With the center portions secured that way, either a tab...
Hmm, mine (not the 'glass one) requires quite a bit of fiddling to get the latches to catch and it's by no means loose. Maybe I should check for bent hardware?
The other solution to getting easier hood removal and reinstallation is to have a forklift rather than a loader on the front. It is so...
FOD, hood fitment and securing one is on my list, too. I'm fitting a 'glass hood to a SEE, and the primary issue is that since it's a 2-layer design it doesn't seem to want to fit over the brake and clutch reservoirs.
Alright, that's fairly easy to fix by cutting out enough material on the...
All the hose connections are made, so I could plug the snow blower in tomorrow. Which may not be an all bad idea, before I spend time on making mounts for the quick disconnects and route the hoses.
It'll be a dry run (assuming the connections don't leak) since there's no snow on the ground...
After having made it to page 96 in the re-reading of this thread, I must apologize to all of you.
There are a number of things that I promised to look into, and share the findings of, but never did. Of course, it also reminded me of a number of things that should've been done to my FLUs, which...
Good point, Mr. Hood. But please remember that I already bought two of those fancy laminated things.
And now that Ahab alerted the enemy (in a roundabout way) to my plan, I may have to get moleskin seat covers. If that even helps.
Might have to install a stereo in the SEE so I can play the...
Please put me on that (e)mailing list. My plan is to print the dash portion of the schematic out and put a sheet in the passenger side foot well.
If the plan works, the rodents will start chewing on that piece of paper instead of the real thing.
Good question, General. Haven't measured/checked, but two might fit. I moved the posts in from the corners, mostly to be kind to the concrete, but that limits the available access.
Sure was nice to be able to tinker with the snowblower hydraulics a bit today, staying dry while it snowed. Stuck...
