Randy glow plugs work automatically with ignition. You can rig a push putton if desired which would also.
Without seeing your truck and guessing based on your description resale to a individual could range $3,500 to 4,500 but again just a guess. Sure you could be that guy and ask 5k or more...
Little things may help like ensuring your Driver's License address is current and matches the address on your EUC application will help.
GL did not want to send mine up to the last step (Battle Creek) for their review because my address on my DL did not match my physical address. I had to jump...
As far as the radio install goes do a search for "headliner" As much as I want to keep mine stock I think I will have to do this mod myself too.... I don't feel to bad back since in late 80's/ early 90's we used to hook up civy radios in our cucv's very discreetly of course. The mechanics were...
wait story
Yeah it is, here is my "wait story"
I had just PCS'd from FT Benning, GA to FT Lewis, WA and I opted for a dity/ do-it-yourself move so I pulled a trailer with my Dodge Durango all the way to FT Lewis, I made it up here fine but shortly after arriving I started having engine...
Oh one more thing inventory constantly changes so if your not in a rush and have a few months to play with you can find what you want on GL for a good price, fair warning though the EUC paperwork/waiting is a real PITA.
It's hit and miss with GL Roady, but there are deals to be had for sure. As far as CUCV keys go there are key codes or you can ask a SS member to make a copy and mail you one as all the keys are the same(or should be unless the locks/ignition switch had been replaced).
With GL SCREENING...
I tried spray cans after I planed the slats down and the wood just soaked it up to fast. It would have cost way to much so I bought a quart of Rustoleum flat black and used a 3" Roller.

Scott, they have their uses and tend to make a better daily ride than a deuce, which I also want as well as a 5 ton I just need to wait until I move off post again.......pretty sure the civilian run base housing (privitized now) would frown on a deuce in the housing area especially since they...
Randy,
As long as after the "rev-up" the gen lights go out and your in the green this is typical and you should have nothing to worry about. Both my old M1009 and my current M1008 did the same thing.
Dale
Edit: Nevermind Westy beat me to it
I have made both private and GL purchases, call me lucky but I have had no major issues with either. My M1008 I bought from GL and there were no chalk/paint marks only some stickers. I have driven mine for at least 1500 miles or more and I have only had to perform an oil change. I guess its...
USAA, Unlike some others here I has some difficulty at first with the VIN. I had to talk the rep through a online image search for a M1008 CUCV, once she saw it she was like oh it's a pick-up truck no problem.

They have 17 for example I copied this just now from a current auction:
1984 CHEVROLET MDL M1028 PICK UP TRUCK VIN 1GCHD34J7EF338236, ODOMETER INDICATES 6, 406 MILES,
Both my old M1009 and my M1008 have 17 digit VIN numbers the problem you run into (especially with insurance companies) is they...
