Nothing yet- :) Seriously though, I don't know how much torque my 1160 CAT is putting out but considering it 636 cubic inches...I certainly would guesstimate it's torque nearing that mark you referred to. No tranny issue so far-
Uh...unless that was first couple of years production, the Duramax's compression ratio was lowered in 2006 from 17.5 to 16.8:1.
The 4.3 liter diesel in my dad's old '84 Celebrity wagon is 22.05:1. That's a nice engine NOT to be confused with the plagued Old's V8 diesel.
I'm running at 1160 CAT (virtually the same as 3208) that's a 225hp NA engine. The later 3208's only went to 190hp or 195hp before a turbo was added so I think it's safe to say that this engine has the fuel put to it a bit. It seems to be set up well at that hp level too as it rarely shows any...
Detroits are neat! When the power input is coming into the differential via the driveshaft, the Detroit is locked. When the power input is coming into the differential via the AXLEshaft, it will unlock. If you go into an intersection then lift and turn it should unlock and help the turn go...

Gimp, nice burn on Tacoma!
Here's a youtube link of my truck winning the Tow Test at Top Truck Challenge in 2005. 40Grit shot it-

Hey DMgunn, click on this and on the second page of the thread I have a pic of my 715's. Much better pic of the big one.

Tacoma, sorry man...didn't...
Don't forget about easy, stock looking, parts to help fab this that are already for deuces. For instance, the braces that go from the frame out that support the front of front fenders. I have plans for extras of those as prefabbed mounts for wood block storage for making good footings for the...
And after you get your deuce people will ask you, "what are you going to use that for?!"
--What ever I want-- ...then smile. If they say anything it may be on the line of, "Cheese and Crackers, I guess!" Shortens up that conversation a bit. :)
RE: My Giant 715 got a workout!
I'll be selling them to a mill. Will use my deuce probably for the 10 footers and see if my buddy will use his deuce on the 12 and that big 16 footer. He's still got a full length dropside. Can't see it by the pics but I had to get the pull chains on that...
I got wood- ...and my truck had to pull it out of some real ugly terrain then a 1/4 mile up to the farm. The log is 16' x 26-30" (slightly oval) nice hunk of White Oak. At one point I had to run up the creek then climb a small bank and she sunk to the rear axle. My 715's 10K deuce winch...
I was just looking at an Allison 750 CLBT transmission. They appear to have four mounts on them, not the at the bell. A LOT of trucks are mounted in that three mount set up-
On the 2700 mile trip back from TTC I had about 3 hours sleep and ate nothing but chocolate, Mt Dew, and Energy drinks as I was petrified to sleep. That mixture turns into a chunk of porcelain in your innards. Really...it clanked.
On a trip out to OK to do some business with fellow SS'ers...a...
RE: Re: RE: Tire size question
Rizzo, the 1600's are designed for a 10" wide wheel, as are the 15.50 XL's or 395/85 XML's. I believe the 14.50R20 XL's are to be on 11" wheels. So how wide are your wheels?
:) Velvet is well...but I should put a new radiator in her at some point. TTC and a giant mud pit I got threw at Rausch Creek pretty much destroyed my Summit radiator.
Osok, here are my M715's. Velvet is the big one, Futura is the orange one that has since gotten a soft top and 1100x16 XL's.
