I think it was mentioned recently that the block has the ability to have piston cooling but the engine does not currently. Power added and you could be looking at a fried piston without a lot of preturbo block and piston prep.
You can make one pretty easily. I did this for my BBC starter in my M715.
That broken bolt-- You didn't happen to give that a 'sniff' of ether, did you? That's a pretty common side effect of too much ether.
RE: Rear Hubs
Ouverson Engineering will sell you a single double splined axle shaft and one lock-out hub. The lockout is identical to the ones he sells for the front axle. When you don't need that rear axle's help (on-road) just unlock the hub and that axle will 'free-wheel' and you'll...

Did anyone else pick up from JUST the first picture that it was a dropside bed??
Non dropside beds have 5 hinges with one right in the center. Hinge spacing is also different between drop and non-dropside beds. The outer two will work, the next two are off by about 1 hing width too far...
If you're going to pull the engine and discard the rest- Does it happen to have an emblem on it that says 'White Power?' NO- this isn't a hooded, firery cross question! My buddy's last name is White and we happen to see one of those emblems at a junkyard and they've since scrapped the truck...
The axle strength on these still depends on how much a person beats on the stupid pedal. It's been argued enough that I feel I can say that it's fairly well accepted that 39" and under and the stock axles will hold up pretty well. Uhm, this is excluding 39" Boggers and amped up big block...I...
I can't remember exactly how the thread went but at one point I think someone surmised or actually did do what was needed to get 14 bolt hubs on front or rear. Can't remember exactly...sorry.
Russian.
I found them one time but have since lost that page. Can you give a little more info on those Russian wheels and those meaty tires? Like that plate adapter too!
Got pulled over several time for credential checks in my M715 when I had the Dana's and 37" TSL Boggers on it. After it all checked out the cops usually digged it. Funny; after I put the Rockwells and 1100x20 Goodyear Custom Extra Grips on 211 wheels...nothing-- wouldn't even get looked at...
I found this looking for actual dead pull weights on recovery pulls. This is why I feel strongly that deuce winch is better than no winch AND why it stands a chance of living a long happy live on the nose of a five ton truck. AND, again, if there's anything questionable, throw in a snatch...
