you could try getting in touch with username 'Country.' He sells deuces and such out of Philly ( http://easternsurplus.net ) and I'd reckon he might know a shipper or something...
Or one could find an old hit-or-miss engine... one of the big ones that you see on the lowboy trailers at the antique engine shows... and use your deuce to pull it! (or start it)
Re: RE: Someone save this 53 GMC
it's got 2.5 ton axles (it's a Deuce, but one of the Korea ones with the 6 cyl gas engine and the GM hydramatic (I think) automatic transmission) and, yes, it does have a 5th wheel hitch on the back. Did these every enter service as a tractor configuration, oh...
yep, you gots a trans in that truck. Look at the shadow, and you can see the shifter knob to the left of the gauge cluster, and a bit of the shift lever.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Twin Turbo Deuce
I'd say it'd be much safer and easier to just drop an LDS 5-ton engine in there. From SasquatchSanta's results with his transplant (repower, whatever...) and seeing that they stuffed them into 5 ton trucks, you get more power, safer, and more easily...
So is this isolated to running mashed potato oil (didn't know there was such a thing) or is this for all folks running WVO? Just curious...
EDIT: Boy am I a little slow!
This year, the GAMVPA's Fall Rally will be held 19-20 September (Friday and Saturday), at the American Legion Post 201 in Alpharetta, GA. http://legion201.org/
Just to sum up the attached flyer, swap meet, MV displays, and concessions on-site. General admission is free, MVs free, Vendors free...
RE: Actually found 2 deuces in Canada!!! How much should I o
Those aren't deuces. Those are M816 (I'm pretty sure) 5 ton trucks. They are powered by the Cummins NHC 250 855 CID diesel... folks usually pay upwards of 12,000 USD for them here... (Again, I'm pretty sure)
It's a rear marker from something. Methinks Korea, since its the WWII style sealed bulbs, but with the M-series style marker pattern... or I could be crazy and talking about something that I have almost, hear me almost no clue about.
Just out of curiosity, if you plan to flat tow this, are you sure the front wheels won't turn and lock either hard right or hard left? I've heard about trucks doing that, even at low speeds...
Very cool, this is a neat looking armored truck. Its Czech, right? Pretty nifty, I hope everything...
They're probably still under contract, and they don't want all the little terrorists to know the correct stock no.s for all the speedos in our trucks over there!
only the HEMTT A3... which is still a prototype. I'd love to have one of them Marine Corps 7 tonners...
EDIT I saw one of these in person at an air show in Rome GA a year or two ago. They are good looking
