RE: Re: RE: tgrailer That's the plan, I got a line on some great priced new air over jobbies and will run one per axle. Mike was kind enough to compare some part #'s and by the technical views and PN's they should work fine.

Help locating a HEMTT - are they out there yet?

The 10 wheel versions, astonishing to me, are ROCKETS!!! I was in awe of the power and get up and go of that monster! The auto trans cranked through without and shift lag and the whole truck was just a tight feeling machine.

RE: tgrailer Mike- Not sure on tongue weight, maybe 200-300Lbs..?? BFR- Will prolly pull the axle shafts and try and round up 4 spare drive flanges to slap on. Not sure about the chunks as of yet...I think for the 430Lbs they weigh total, I'll just leave them in. HA-HA, besides who breaks...

RE: Big Dumb Trailer... Pics of further progress. Will post more when next part arrives and front mount is made. Crossmember ahead of box (originally had T-case HI-LOW shifter on it was turned around so I could notch the frame to enable bending it in. Frame is 54" past that crossmember which...

    Rockwell Camber Issues

That dude is also forgetting that the stock deuce tire on a good day is nearly 39" tall. He's running a 48" tall tire. THAT in itself will greatly accentuate the angle by just making it 'look' like there's more only because it's farther out from top to bottom. If his tire was 30" you'd hardly...

Keep up the excellent work, Mike! -attachements in order...WOW, I'll have to get used that! :)

ARB lockers for 2.5 ton Rockwells

From what I've found the heavier the vehicle the less noticable the front locker's affect is on it. Sure, steering will be a bit heavier but the truck will more want to go where you want it to go. Larger tires will help too as they'll be less inclined to 'push' and more inclined to dig in that...

RE: Big Dumb Trailer... Yep, I'm going to cut out small 'pie pieces' and then bend the frame in on either side then weld where the pieces were cut out.

RE: Big Dumb Trailer... Trailer is going to stay with NDT's. Truck is still undecided.

    NDCC tire siping

Most of the aftermarket siping I've seen is done crossways on the tread. It's a shame the east coast doesn't have Less Shwabs around. Some of their places do tire siping. Bjorn, I think because of the amound of open tread on the NDT a typical siping pattern isn't going to apply. The center...

RE: Big Dumb Trailer... I'm keeping the spare tire mount on the driver's side and also will have 16-20" of straight frame infront of the box that I'm thinking of putting a tool box there too. That space gets me to the next crossmember where I'll start bringing the frame in.

In process of making a deuce trailer...literally. Got donor (see pics below) and will be turning that into a trailer leaving tandems, swapping on dropside bed, and a couple other things...no winch as of yet. :) Wrenching today saw the driver's side step and storage compartment swung to...

    Best off road setup.

This gives a general idea, but ABSOLUTELY does not do the tread pattern justice like sticking your finger down into the tread in person. VERY meaty looking tire...crappy picture. http://tireweb.zolmantire.com/products.htm?prodid=FirestoneCommercial109&F2=&gid=3820&bcname=firestone

    Best off road setup.

Lax, the tires on that FMTV truck you pictured are Michelin XML's. Popular size is 395/85R20 (about 46x16) but there's another size that's, I believe, around a 345/85R20. Both are too not designed to be on the stock deuce wheel or the old single style like the 211's or 135's. The tire that I...

    Best off road setup.

Your best bet would be an 1100x 20 without a solid center of tread design so that it can bite down in. A lot of treads that are though to be fairly aggressive will work a little but if the ground packs hard and the center of the tire has more of a solid pattern to it, NO matter WHAT size cleats...

    Came across this beauty .....

I'd be the pin is sheared in the winch too. :) Cab looks a little caddy-wumpus too.

    2 output shaft PTO

Now that I got my rear winch clutch working I'll be starting on the drive again soon! It's always a lot of fun to figure out where you can get away with a shaft here or a set of sprockets and a chain there...

How large of tires will fit

If my thinking is clear on this wouldn't a larger diameter tire using the same size brakes make the truck (to the brakes) feel a lot more heavy when trying to stop? As far as weight, an 395 XML on a double beadlock aftermarket wheel is 245LBS. At least mine were. Another note, those running...

    Need M35 cargo box

I have two spare right now. One originally came off my truck and is in half decent shape, the other I'll have to look at later today and see what condition it's in. Located about 30 miles west of Harrisburg, PA.
