    20,000 Garwood Clutch (Rizzo-)

The clutch in-out clutch in my 20K Garwood in the back of my deuce wasn't working and was frozen up solid. Having put it in over a year ago and not finished the drive feeling that I'd have to change it anyway (which I would have for the M977 crane install)...so I'm not losing any sleep about...

How large of tires will fit

The old torque rods in the rear were a bit different then the heavy 'H' beam style of the later trucks. Pretty obvious when set side by side.

    2 output shaft PTO

My rear PTO is on the T-case. I have a single out tranny PTO for the 20K Garwood up front. The rear T-case PTO is presently spinning the pump for the crane and will soon be sharing duty for the drive for the rear 20K Garwood.

    Hydraulic Pump...

Any pump will just about do but a small pump or even PS pump will have lower volume and take a while to stand the dump box up. The pump I have on my crane is rating a little over 2000PSI and 25-28GPH and the crane moves with good speed with that. The mast raises with speed and the boom...

    breaking free stuck lug nuts

I had to use a pipe on a breaker bar on my ole '53 Stude M34. Put the bar on top of a cinder block with a 2x6 on the cinder block then drove it forward (right front tire)...you definately knew when it popped loose.

    Snatch Blocks

I have two the Coleman's style too. One from them one from old Roman's. They work GREAT! VERY EASY loading and unloading of cable and no strength concerns. I've used them many, many times pulling logs with 'Blue.'

    Deuce Trailers ?

I think, but am not positive though, that the older trailers had the larger single wheel on the landing gear. I like that MUCH better than the smaller ones. I'd shoot for that-

    Engine Swap Help Turns Bad

Yeah...my buddy's '55 chevy had bad brakes so he replaced everything. I get there as he's trying to get the line from the master cylinder down to the splitter off. He's already removed the master and twited it back and fourth and broken off the line. I lean my head over the fender and ask him...

    M35 ON A TRAILER

I just measured an M35A2 tonight for my own reasons- 16' from about 8" behind the centerline of the rearmost axle to the centerline of the front axle. 19' from about 8" behind the centerline of the rearmost axle to the face of the front bumper. Eyeballing that bumper measure.

What's the correct deuce PTO look like?

John- Parts for commercial truck PTO's to fit the deuce trannies have dried up. New PTO's from Muncy, for example, do not even list the 3052(3)(3a), etc. I did an exhaustive amount of searching for a 6 bolt PTO with the correct gear angle. Most seem to have the gear helix angle going in the...

Put your shades on for this one!

Wasn't that on ebay or something a few months back? Naglich or someone like that had it for sale asking 20 or 30 grand? Tough to forget 'Santa's Wrecker.'

    Bobbed Deuce project pics

Well right there it is. Here's some pics I had taken a while back. This will show you the difference between the two and why their not the same height. Side view front spring set up, then rear view front spring set up, then rear view trailer set up.

    5 ton vs 10 ton

GEEEZE that makes the 5 ton look dainty. Good pics!

    Bobbed Deuce project pics

Okay...I was thinking about this today and gotta bring it up again. Someone's gotta tell me how it's possible that the rear of the truck is lower than the front when swapping in front suspension?! -Same size tires will mean same height to the top of the axle tube. (or possible the front...

1 million pounds of GL scrap - including pallets of Tires

I think the pile of XL's are on LAV wheels which are buggers to get off unless you make up a special dismantle tool. Some other guys on the east coast got together on a bunch of them, 1100x16's...I'd bet those are as well not 20's like we'd need.

    Bobbed Deuce project pics

I don't get it...the deuce I bobbed and the guy just finally came and got had the rear up about an inch or two even with the M105 trailer bed on it. Huh...that's odd- Sermis, I would guess that he positioned the axle to fit the bed comfortably then had the driveshaft made to length. You...
