    Why wouldn't this work?

I dumped about a gallon of atf/oil/etc that I had laying around... No problems so far.. had about half a tank when I did it. I've filled up since. Still no problems. Have NOT used wmo yet.

    Why wouldn't this work?

That raises a question. Will a higher quality, higher flow pump, push through 3 filters, gradually stepping down in size, thus only needing 2 barrels...? ETA.pump on dispensing as well.

    Why wouldn't this work?

Did you read the text? I plan on using a pump to connect the different filters/drums. Why not just ONE pump, with ONE filter attachment. then just swap the filters as the pump is moved to a different stage? With screw on filters, should be little mess... I see a bunch of screw on...

    Why wouldn't this work?

Drums I can get for about 10$ a piece, filters and piping are also cheap. I'd have to figure out a way to use couplings to get one pump to connect to each stage, but shouldn't be too hard. The filters are designed for thousands of gallons of fuel... so they wouldn't have to be changed...

either none, for the good ones, unless activated, to a couple ma for crappy ones.

    CB runs batteries down

touché I'll see if I can find a link. Most timers I buy are more elaborate and in the 60$ range... basic ones I've seen as low as 10$, but wouldn't trust them to mission critical applications.

    PNW Info Thread!

Is it too early to start planning meets? I'm thinking mid june, point defiance park, for a bbq.

    CB runs batteries down

The 3$ relay will become $20 with the purchase of the appropriate connectors/mounts/etc. I assume that not everyone has a shed full of electronic parts/components. ;) You can always set the timer to x hours.. :D... and reset it with a quick on/off cycle of the ignition, or, flip a switch to...

    CB runs batteries down

Heh. A timer is no more complicated than a relay, and not prohibitively expensive. So there is no reason to use a just a switch and a relay, and plenty of reasons not to. So yes, I see it as cutting corners. But, as I said, don't let me tell you what to do with your vehicle, it's yours to do...

    CB runs batteries down

It's on a flat surface, just behind the valley. All are either my vehicles (which is why you see a lot of the same equipment), or my demo cars (when I had a company).

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

With just the passenger tub done, it's night and day. I can talk to a passenger in normal conversational tone, no need to raise my voice/yell. It was raining, and I heard a LOT of road noise/water from the wheel well area. I'm betting with the rear carpeted as well, it'd be pretty quiet.

    Cucv led tail lights

I know this is an older thread, but I had to comment. No, no, and NO! LEDs are completely different than standard bulbs. Standard CLEAR bulbs put out a broad spectrum of light, and the filter, you guessed it, FILTERS that bandwidth of light. The standard red-red/orange filter is usually...

    CB runs batteries down

Doesn't matter how mindful you are. You WILL forget to turn it off one day, you WILL come out to a dead truck, and you WILL need to buy new batteries. I don't need to go into what deep discharging a starter battery does, do I? 8-) $20 for a switch/relay, or $30 for a timer... The answer is...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

Hood - engine noise. still need to insulate. Back, still need to insulate, dunno but carpet or not. A few posts I've seen have said that carpet front/rear and hood insulator took it down to 'normal' diesel truck levels, Ie F350, 3500, etc. I want it to be quiet, and well insulated. Hence the...

    CB runs batteries down

Simpler, yes. proper, no. Not when you don't have an ACCY position. :D Leaving the ignition on, without running the engine, just to use a radio, isn't a good practice. Do it right the first time.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

I've never done carpet before, FYI. The pan is fairly flat. I did nothing but trim to fit. There is a little extra around the trans hump, as you can see in the pic, but not a lot. Home Depot exterior carpet 18$ for 6x6, 25$ for foam padding 6x8, and 2.5 rolls of peel and seal, about $40...
