Olympic Flight Museum Airshow June 18-19

If anyone knows of a Vet's hall or museum that might be in need of a Cobra, the DNR at Oly Airport may be able to make them a deal. It appears that the Government has decided that Cobras are not acceptable for fire fighting equipment. And they are to be scraped, crushed, melted down or they...

    PNW-2011-Third Annual Chehalis River Valley M/V Convoy&Campout

Well they could bring their own shirts, I could bring the stencil machine, and we could have them hands on the rig and stencil them in place. that way they would be personalized. Am I going to be excommunicated if I can't be there on Saturday. Another AAF event has reared its head and...

Olympic Flight Museum Airshow June 18-19

That is a complicated question. They have limited us in the past due to space restrictions on the airport. It would require a call to Teri, the museum manager. You might consider how many vehicles you could get to turn out for this event before you call her. This close to the Airshow, she is...

troop seats and bows for M813A1?

Too tall can be taken care of with a sawsall, if the price is right. I have a 14 ft. dropside and had a heck of a time, but managed to put all the racks and bows together from parts. Had to go through 4 2 ft. sections to find 2 that work and then had to tune one of them up.

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

We have talked about making some faux armor with some painted plywood. and I could take the pedestal mount out of the M715 and I had an offer on another one. We could make a tribute truck. But let me take care of the mechanicals first.

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

We will have to talk about the truck painting. Thank you for the offer. Was originly thinking about going back to Vietnam green, but now am not so sure. Maybe the camo will stay with the truck. I did find that the 214th Avn that is on the bumper was a helicopter unit at Ft. Lewis in the mid...

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

Excellent job on the pictures. I keep thinking that I should do that to catalog vehicles and their variations, but it never works out for me. Thank you for turning out for this event.

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

The lady at the fort asked about some guy named Rodocker. I told her he seemed sort of shifty and that they should look him over real good. :-)

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

I checked with the Ft. today and we all the historic MV's will be directly behind the centerfield fence. All the groups PSVC, FOWJ, FOK and a few strays will be sharing the area. We will have to figure lineup in the morning. You will access this area from a gate at the leftfield corner of the...

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

Three vehicles of us and an unknown quantity of WW2 vehicles. We will let them lead and I will follow up the rear as not too many folks want to mess with a 5 T. We will meet no later than 0715, make sure the passes are filled out, and head out by 0730. Sorry Hammer is missing this one. We...

Armed Forces Day Ft. Lewis May 21

It is open to the public, but if you are doing a display with a vehicle, you need a pass to go to the display area. Otherwise you will be directed to public parking. Your name also needs to be on the check in list, but MWR personnel will be there to assist if someone is bringing an MV and for...

    Cargo cover swap

I think I just installed an LMT cargo top on my M54 with dropside box. It is a little tall for the truck as originally set up. I think I am going to raise my top bows about 6 inches. Will have to do some pondering and measuring first and it should then work out well. Will also probably have...

    Hello from Washington

Except for Aaron's at Napavine, Arlington in July and few vehicles at the Olympic Flight Museum, June 18 - 19. This will be the place to be to see a pretty good variety. As for the girlfriend, if you think you like this stuff, she had better too. Many of us can attest to that. Some are lucky...
