Looks like fun. Sorry I am out for this one. Have the Friends of Willie and Joe, Battle of the Bulge Vehicle run on Saturday. That one is WW2 vehicles and we go till the snow is so deep we can't go anymore. Then have to get back for the lighted vehicle parade on Sat. evening. Will be running...
Here are some pics from the Nov. 5 Auburn WA Veterans Day parade. There is a good turnout of military vehicles for this event, unfortunately I did not get many pictures.
If anyone would be interested or available, on Dec. 17th at 1800 there will be a Christmas Parade in Centralia, WA. They are interested in having old tractors, old vehicles, and MV's. I talked yesterday to our local NG unit and they are planning on 2 to 3 vehicles.
I have a morning snow run...
Thank you for the tips on the lighting.
There will be a Christmas parade in Centralia WA on the evening of Dec. 17th and they are looking for lighted vehicles. Someone called me and i was trying to figure out how to run the lights. May try to light up the 5 T.
Happy 20th Anniversary Desert Storm Vets.
Thank you to Hardhat, Badmastard, Rydel and Donna, and Chris B. for furnishing Desert painted vehicles for this operation. We ended up with 6 leg troops and 4 vehicles including a Humvee, CUKV, 2 1/2 Ton Tanker, and an M35A3.
Stuart, best wishes on the health issues with your partner.
Scott, I am sure that you could tuck in with someone for the parade.
I will be taking a jeep, but it is already lent out to a female Army Medic from the Vietnam era and a couple of her veteran buddies.
I will be walking with the...
There is a parade starting at 1100 on November 5th in Auburn WA.
If you are not already registered, you probably won't be able to get in the parade unless you belong to one of the groups that are registered.
They do have a static display area along the parade route where you could take your...
Larry M. is going and he isn't on this site. they asked him to do some sort of a display for a bit when the parade is over. So he will probably drag out some ordnance.
I will be doing a Desert Storm tribute at the Auburn parade. So far looks like three ground troops and three Desert painted...
If you have a truck wrecking yard handy, check them out. They should be fairly reasonable. I had one that was too rusty to adjust. Had to cut it off the bracket with the grinder. Found a painted one at the truck yard. Came home painted it OD and you can't tell the difference, except that it...
Thank you for the tip and the knowledge on why the windshields are offset. I needed a replacement on the M54 and someone came along with an offset in the frame and it is working fine, except that I need to replace the rubber. I didn't think about the offset until it was already installed and...
Here are a couple more helicopter pictures for the thread. This is my M38A1 and M 715 at the Olympic Flight Museum Airshow. The Copter was a 1964 and it was a beauty. We put a couple batteries in it and it cranked. We think with a little fuel and some service it would have been a runner...
Yes you were right about the tie downs. They are on the trailer with the data plate and it is dated 1966. The other trailer does not have the tie downs and no data plate, but I would guess that it is about the same date. The guy I got them from, got them from a logger that used them for...
I think it is Converto Trailer, Dump, 1/2 ton, Airborne. Am away from it right now so can't go look at the tag.
It was designed for use by engineers for various repair projects.
The trailer in the picture is painted for the 295 Combat Engineers. That was my uncle's unit in Europe WW2. He...
Actually except for the body tubs being beat up, they are pretty much stock. One is a 66 and the other is missing the data plate. There wasn't anything extra welded on. If they hadn't cut the vehicle cable, they would be workable the way they are. One of these days the tubs will come off and...
Would you mind making this the M 416 rescue thread? Here are a couple that I found last spring out behind the farmers barn. The tubs are tough, but they rolled well and the electrical cable was cut off on both. The fun part is it feels like a National Geographic special everytime you track...
For your weight, why not go with an ecology block or two? Most concrete batch plants have a form that they put wasted concrete in and it will have a pick point already installed. They usually weigh 2 to 3 thousand pounds depending on the form. Put a couple of strategically placed angle irons...
That is neat that you know the history of the vehicle and instead of honoring only one unit, you have the chance to honor 4 of them. I say keep with it.
I do not know the history of my 42 GPW, so it is generally painted in my uncle's Engineer unit from WW2, but lately if called upon to do a...
