There's a lot to be said for that. Today I decided to replace an old and brittle (in RV-plastic terms, that's more than six months) vent cover on the travel trailer which broke in a recent hail storm. A simple 4-bolt task. I HATE climbing ladders, so I decided to use the SEE for a stable and...

Alright, some food for thought instead of for rats, for a change. I could use some input from people smarter than what I am (which means all of you guys) on this suspension lockout idea. Don't know yet if this would be in addition to, or instead of, the shocks. But at this point that's largely...

Ron, I must admit that I have wondered why you did the wiring resurrection "live", but after thinking about it, you're doing it the right way. By having several smaller smoke bombs go off as you plug away (so to speak) you're getting instant feedback. Or, rat-feed back, if you will. That has to...

I would need to look at how I plumbed one in on the Peterbilt to refresh my memory. It was simple, as I recall, but then there's nothing metric on that one. After "borrowing" the alcohol bottle from the parts-SEE (the bottom was pulled off the SEE's bottle, thanks to the stupid-stiff, too short...

No, not yet. And there's a good reason for it. The first one I found, a used 3-point, PTO driven, dual auger 8-footer, I realized couldn't be powered by 36 gpm. Last week I ordered a fully hydraulic 7-foot skid steer version, which supposedly will run on what the SEE's PTO pump puts out. We'll...

Good point. I should probably look into getting something like the Wabco. Especially if the front mounted snow blower becomes reality.

Hang in there, Ron. I'm always pleasantly surprised when something doesn't go wrong. Guess I'm just used to things not working out like they should.

Funny you should mention that. Early on I also thought about moving the switch, and yesterday, when looking at the headlights, I realized that there's no reason to ever use them. With the loader in less than way-up position, you can barely see the headlights. Something tells me that the usable...

Ahab, those are factory work lights, which I replaced with dirt cheap LED 60-degree work lights, front and rear. Unlike Mr. Hood, I thought it was better to see good than to look good. And the installation was pain(t)less. On the SEE the protective...um, hood, was left off, which helped quite a...

Ron, the blinker sound is coming from the area between the heater and the steering column, probably higher up under the dash. Hope that helps. As far as the SEE being an insult to trucks goes, I'm not so sure. Trucks, by definition, have a cargo area which you put things on. No such thing on my...

Good point, Ahab. But I do have several gallons of anti freeze I could add should that happen. Realistically, though, there would be other things I'd be more concerned with than being able to clean out the irrigation ditches. It would definitely give me more incentive to get the hydraulic snow...

True, one never knows when a simple navigational mistake could make us end up in Siberia with the SEE. Then being safe at down to -62 degrees could be a good thing. Since I've lost my passport I couldn't go there anyway, so a mere 30 to 40 percent works fine for me with temps rarely going below...

I put it on the list for tomorrow to listen for it. If the turn signals work (not sure that I ever tried them) and it's a normal flasher, I should be able to hear where it is. Hopefully it's not under the hood.

I never did get any paperwork with mine, which might be what has saved me from all the electrical work you guys have to deal with. Mine is not ratified.

Well, there's always the more or less direct connection between rodents and the SEE. In German the SEE is a "gerate".

Hot doggity! That's probably what happened.

Without resorting to using tax dollars, I happen to know what attracted rodents to mid 2000s GM pickups. For whatever reason, GM thought it'd be a good idea to lube up the wiring harnesses with (basically) peanut butter. As far as them liking the SEE goes, maybe it's like people often...

Alright, you got me curious. Why would you want to be at the upper limit? I always try to stay at the lower limit, enjoying the increased heat transfer and money savings that result from using as little anti freeze as possible. And speaking of anti freeze, I captured some in a bucket when the...

I'd remove the plug a seal carefully, then stick them back in. If you end up ruining the seal, Expedition Imports and others should have them...if there's no generic replacement.

What? Of straight rods? Looks just like your straight ones, except that mine are now painted (largely) flat black, so they're hard to see. Until I lay that one on its side, that is.
