That's the one that has been at Idaho Motor Pool for a while now. I actually peeked inside when I was there...looks rough but everything is there. Nothing a little (?) TLC can't fix.
Welcome to the sickness! :)
I have a buddy who got some drop-in lockable boxes that fill in the rear doors on those HMMWVs (he has the pickup-truck style early civy model that was very close to the military until they pimped them out. Even has the NA 6.2 and 3 speed tranny). Anyways, they were quality weatherproof pieces...
Kenny,
So...it would seem like a good idea to grab an extra set of stock front hubs (from someone who has put lockouts on) and have them in your "drag home kit" for sealing up the rears? What a great idea...that way you can get all 4 rear hubs sealed up easily. I bet you could find sets of...
Sorry to hear about this mess Floyd. Sometimes the "system" fails in a big way.
What were the items you were bidding on exactly? Maybe we can work together to see if we can find similar items for sale from a private party?
Even though GL does not seem to care, I would like to thank you for...
Looks great! I can't wait to get mine mounted (I'm going with 14.50R20s on those same wheels).
I'm assuming you already had your hubs flipped from before? I'm going for the non-flipped look.
I would love to see a schematic diagram of that wiring...all of the wiring diagrams that I've found online don't show that circuit.
Is that in the addendum for the dual-brake system trucks?
Oh...yes, that is the parking brake switch. There is a switch on the handbrake handle. One wire comes in from under the floor, into the switch, then a wire out from the switch to a bolt in the floor (ground).
I can take a pic if you like...

They have an M105 Tool Trailer for sale. Good people to deal with. Not sure if he will sell it to you though...this is an EUC thing.
RE: Re: RE: M35 I just got
With the right rims...axles on the A3 are almost identical (they have the CTIS stuff on the A3).
A3 rims will bolt to an A2 (after you flip the hubs).
They are down on the air pack(s) under the truck. One of two kinds are used...older ones tended to leak so newer style (relocated) switch is used. You could have either.
If you need to replace yours, do the upgrade to the new style. Saturn sells a kit to do this correctly with all of the...
Re: RE: M35 I just got
If they are stock (looks to be) it should be 14.50R20 on 11" rims. Berg Tire has them for about $150/tire (used, 90%) + S&H.
I am putting the same set up on my 88 A2 (custom rims though, A3 rims are impossible to find).
On a somewhat related note:
I'm interested in getting a snapshot and measurements of existing rear pintle instructions on the back on one of these USAF deuces (I'm trying to get a stencil made). This is painted on the rear of the vehicle right next to the pigtail on the back of these USAF...
OK...official thread hijack:
Suspending the need of some people to keep things "stock" or "original"....why not just put a 502 big block chevy in there? Yeah, there would be some engineering involved, but twice the HP, easy to find parts, great reliability, fuel injection, yadda yadda yadda...
PM Me...I have real sets of gaskets from DANA here and will sell you a set cheap. Kit comes with two thicknesses of gaskets, instructions, and a bunch of warning stickers.
$10.00 + S&H. I have 5 of these kits.
OK, I'll chime in.
IMO: Choose your battles. Yes, it was wrong/unfair/stupid/waste of time. However, aside from a bit of grief, embarrassment, and your valuable time there was no real harm.
I would write a carefully worded letter to the duty officer or sheriff explaining what happened, that...
