Okay, got some pics up :D
Had fun getting the bed up. Attached a chain to the front of the bed, and to a tree behind the deuce, about 12 feet up. Drove the deuce foward, and up went the bed!
I figured out what capacity lift I have. 6" dia, 29" stroke cyl. Lift has 8.5 feet of stroke. 6"...
Well I am measuring the lift, and looks like I have somewhere between 7 and 8 feet of lift. The hinge is 1 foot in, so I will be lifting 11 feet of bed. I will have a more accurate measurement when I go to install the lift. That should be plenty, I will be able to put the lift towards the...
I changed the title of this thread, since I am posting all my pics and info on my dump conversion. First couple of posts deal with angle of bed, and then install.
What angle of lift would you recommend for a dump bed? I have the hinge installed, trying to figure out where to put the lift...
My turbo whistles at strart up, then you can hear it slow down when the oil pressure builds. You can hear the compresser when its running, ticking noise. I run 55 psi hot at anything above idle, 35 at idle.

Went to fill up the deuce today, and noticed the gas gauge was lower then what I remembered. Measured the fuel level, and I was missing 3 inches of fuel! I also noticed the chain to the cap was broke. Looks like someone stole some fuel from me... Now for the fun part! What they got was 75%...
I just noticed you have the same chain in the same spot as me... I had to twist mine also to keep it from dragging. Ever use it? I tell people it is my emergency brake/anchor
I have the military numbers on my deuce, and tags in the glove box. Did have a city cop hassle me about it, I put the historical plate on to please him. Took it off the next day. I would have fought it, but didn't have the time. I keep a copy of the law in my truck, the cop could care less...
I am running used motor oil in my deuce, and was wondering what percentage you can use. I am using 50% at the moment. Got 8 gallons of old gasoline I am running thru at the moment. I filter everything before going in the tank. At 3.40 a gallon, I am trying everyway possible to cut the...
Mine came from the junkyard, minus pto gearbox. Had to buy a winch pto with rear output. Junkyard cost 500. No leaks, was working, truck it came from had 75,000 miles on it.
P.s. your link is broken magnus....
I believe I have the same setup, what does the capacity C.40/D mean? How much will this lift?
I have the same pump, hinges, and lift, but no tag on lift.
Roger in london, ohio has a bunch of them. Usually 3-5 thousand. That is where I bought mine, am pretty happy with it.
Take 70 west past 270. Take the route 42 exit south off 70, about 1-2 miles, on the left hand side you will see plenty of deuces.
Not sure when he is open. Will pm you his...
Maybe rear driveshaft is pulled? Or one of the rear axleshafts? Lots of owners pull one or the other for better steering and gas mileage. Mine spins really easy because I have a rear axle shaft pulled...
