    Desplined hubs?

I bought an extra set of front hubs. Cut the splines out and buffed with a flap wheel. Has anyone had a problem with wear on the hub or axle stub when using desplined hubs? Was wondering if I should put a bronze bushing and grease zerk in the desplined hubs. Thanks, Dennis

    Another Deuce hitch

I had an old hitch someone gave me, but it was too wide for the deuce frame. I took an angle grinder and ground the welds where the hangers mounted to the square tube. Once I hammered the welds loose I was able to slide the hangers to the right width for the deuce frame. I then found out the...

    Another set of deuce ramps

The thought of my body flexing anything is quite amusing.... I may modify the ramps some more, but am in a hurry to get the truck ready for Haspin. Putting a hitch for my camper on it at the moment. When I got the rails, the truck was already stripped to the frame and axles. It did have 20...

Ok - what size passenger vehicles fit in a M35 cargo bed?

I just measured my bed for fitting my little jeep, 88 X 146. Dennis

    Another set of deuce ramps

Went to the junkyard and cut out up a medium duty truck frame. 7 X 3 X 1/4 inch channel, 12 foot long. Price was right, free! One of the old time junk yards you can still wrench yourself. About 2-3 hours to cut out the frame, and clean out all the crossmembers. About an hour to trim to...

    Welcome

Okay, I know nothing about Gamma Goats, so here is a few questions. Street legal? Amphibious?(bad speller) Top speed? Weight? Options? (such as winch, crane, etc...) Tire size? How does the rear end steer? Horsepower? Stick or Automatic? Payload? Okay, maybe that is more than a few..... :turn...

vote for the deuce master general

That is a really hard choice.... I have learned something from just about everyone on this forum, lot of good people on here. Where is choice D, all of the above? Dennis

    Fair price for a dropside?

I can get a dropside for 500.00, is this a good price? Very nice shape, with seats. Also, if I do get this, I will have a regular bed for sale, with seats. Small rust hole on side, paint is peeling on the tailgate and bumper. Dennis

    LDS vs LDT

Since my engine is good, I don't run the truck loaded, and I am moving, I will leave the engine for someone else. The dropside is in great shape, has a good coat of CARC on it. I also need a fender off this truck. Thanks for the info guys. Dennis Just realized I should have put this post on...

    LDS vs LDT

Is it worth my time to replace my LDT-1D with a LDS? I have a turned up pump with egt gauge on my truck now, and it runs good. 95% of the time my truck is empty. I was looking at a parts deuce, and surprise, it has a LDS in it. Some parts off the engine, air compresser, intake piping, maybe...

    loud, DEEP tone air horn?

I am happy with the deuce horns, mine seem to be pretty darn loud, the higher pitch dosen't bother me. I have a set of train horns on my bus, at 120 psi they echo off of the buildings. Great fun to follow a car over the railroad tracks and blow the horn. They look like crazy for a...

    Muffler Modification.

Why do these pumps fail? I cleaned my tank and pump. The pump is a magnetic drive pump with no seals, and a very simple bearing. Is this the same pump every else has? The motor part on mine is sealed, to me looks to be a good design. No problems so far. You could put two 12v inline...

I picked up this muffler today, went into napa and they had it the next day. Maybe get it on next week if I have time. Dennis

    shorted out starter? disassembled pictures

Have you tried to crank the engine over by hand? I have heard that these engines can hydro lock, where the cylinders fill with fuel.

    Another turbo question

My motor says it is a 86, 465-1D I think it whistles, but I don't have anything to compare it to. About 2300-2400 the sound goes very high pitched under full throttle. The C turbo must be VERY loud if this is what a D sounds like.

    Cruising RPM

2200 on up is good, ran it to between 2700-2800 on a flat road before. Somewhere over 63 mph. Stock fuel settings(for now!) Really seems to take off over 2400 rpm. Dennis ________ Buy roor bongs

    Electrical question

When you fix the regulator, you should be good on the turn signals. My turn signals don't blink if the battery is low, the lite stays solid. Dennis ________ British cooking

    Deuces with Cummins?

I was talking to my uncle, he was in a army maintence company in the early 80's, over in Germany. Said they ran out of engines for the deuces. Had a large pile of 5-ton motors and was told to "make them fit" in the deuces. Way he was talking, sounded like they used the cummings? Might have...

    Fire Extinguishers and other parts

You get those bumps on your head too? I have a couple little bald spots thanks to bumping into things that don't move. At 6' 8'', lifting the hood easy. But that dang hard top is close enough to hurt on a good bump.

    Question on very strange behavior

Call me crazy, but sounds like the engine was running in reverse? That would explain backwards, no oil pressure, and exhaust out intake manifold. How it happened I have no idea. Dennis
