It sounds like it's time to pull the wheels and drums and do a complete brake inspection . Along with fixing the releasing problem , which cause them to over heat , the condition of the drums and brake linings should be checked for heat cracking . It's a new to him truck so it may have happened...

Does it have the correct brake fluid in it ? and not D.O.T. 5 and D.O.T. 3 mixed ?
Has the break fluid even been checked?

You would hope so . But years ago I was a R & R guy at a couple of chain places and seen managers charge for a complete rebuild give a 6 month warranty and just have us replace the front seal and hope it lasted the 6 months . If not it was no biggie to them they over charged enough the first...
I would pull it myself and get the tranny rebuilt a bench job around here is about $300 from a reputable builder . I wouldn't waste the money to pull it and just replace the front seal . rebuild it and you know what you have.
The towing capacity on the data tag is 6000 pounds which is what the D.O.T. will consider as it's rated capacity , not whether it will pull it or not .
When I joined in april 2009 there was a little over 10,000 members and the site was roughly 10 ywars old , that was a average of 1000 new members a year . Today thre are 35,589 as of this post , that is now a average of 1000 new members a month. The site is going through growing pains ...

Most studies show bio-diesel as a solvent . Ask wreckerman how laquer thinner affects the fuel system .
Have they installed new tanks lines ,filters and housings and pumps to determine it is the bio-diesel chemically...
