Yes, those are a couple of the wheels I made. Yes mud & snow can get in them but honestly its not any worse than the mud and snow that gets in between the wheel and drum of a regular deuce wheel. The openings alow for easy rinse out.
Yea, this last one was an impulse buy (happens to me alot) . I thought it was a DT360 because it looked smaller than my other 466 but when i got it home I was able to mesure the block and found it was a 466. The newer engine Looks bigger because of the different configurating of pump & intake...
Ok, Picked up another dt466 (1984) this weekend. Bought it b/c its looked a lil simpler than the '95 466 i have. It is a no-intercooled engine with a standard trans atached to it. I have not ID'd the trans yet but this one might be an easier fit. I can not find any tag on the engine, dose anyone...
K just denotes 4x4 (yes a lil heavier casting, But is in every factory 4x4). As for the 231, dont expect much from it. Also keep in mind, it more than likely had a 4.3 in front of it. The 4&6 cyl had lighter clutch packs in them
So..... I guess I am missing something. You want a HI-PO diesel right? But you want to go faster? Hi performance means more power correct? It dose not mean the engine is biult to spin faster. Yes they make kits for diesels that alow them to run past the govened speed but it dose not mean they...
Then do an effective upgrade. Over-reving any engine is not good for it. I dont care if its a HI-PO engine, it will decrease the life and efficency of it. Leave your 6.2 (there not that bad) and get the R's down.
Another thing to keep in mind it the construction of the lockout, How long do you think the bearing/bushing will last efectivly spinning twice as fast?
Obviously your not up to the times on the chevy disconect style axle huh? There is a TSB on the lube used in the front axle. ALL GM front axles require synthetic lube and the TSB states to replace existing non-syn with synthetic. Yea occasionaly you get one that lives but take a guess what it...
IMO, if your gonna be spinning those spider gears all the time, You better switch to a high grade synthetic fluid. I belive it would work, as long as the carrier holds up.
