Dude, Count the OUTPUT shaft. I dont want to argue but GM only used 27 spline output shafts in the 700r4. (in gm aplications). As a mater of fact NONE of the big 3 use 34 splines. GM used 27 in the th350/ 700r4/ 4l60e/ t5/ nv3500/ etc. They used 32 splines on th400/ 4l80e/ nv4500. Dodge uses 23...

If you do them yourself your pop pressures will be all over the board. IMO, get a set of the larger nozles and have a shop rebiuld them.

2 things your not gonna see on the 14 from the outside. The axle shafts "neck down" between the splines and the flange, and the carrier brg caps have a bolt in the middle of them that has been known to compromise the strength of them. Both easily remidied but just food for thought.2cents

Have you tried changing the governer weights? Try a heavier set and see if it holds 4th.
