A buddy of mine has two CASE model 406's and a 404. Don't mean nothing against the 404 as it sure makes a normal M715 looks light duty. :) The 406's are incredibly stoudt though!
Bjorn, I can't answer that question on cab clearance as of yet. If you scroll back up to the pic that has the yellow 2x 27's holding the crane on you'll get a really good view of the four big hydraulic cylinder that the crane 'nests' on. When crane is in operation, it stands up on those four...
Here's two more pics I grabbed tonight. First one..if I upload correctly (ha-ha Mangus) is of the mounted rack of valves and just the completly mounted set up of tanks, outrigger, crane mounts from driver's side. It looks very mechanically aggressive and kind of prehistoric. :) Second pic is...
AHhh, and one last note worth...um, noting. Tools Broken to date:
One, Craftsman 3/4" breaker bar-
*One, 3/4" drive 3" extension twisted off-
One, 3/4" drive 1-1/2" socket grenaded-
**One (more) 3/4" drive 1-1/2" socket bell shaped-
*Needed this shorty in a pinch and welded it back together...
And here's the 'Mog air tanks mounted. Am probably going to keep ONE of the stock tanks and plumb up from that to the top tank here. Again, lower tank will be hydraulic oil res.
I can pleasantly state that I feel very good progress is being made! As of today, 02/05/06, it's been about a month. This is solid weekends and picking at little things evenings for a couple hours after a long drive up from work. On the HEMMT, this sucker mounts at the rear of the truck with...
There's a chance my company will be looking into making lockers for the Rockwells. We make MANY different types. I'll post up when I know more...Obviously it'll be a while-
Here's a 20,000# military rated Garwood PTO winch from a 5 ton truck I successfully wedged into my deuce. I've hidden it's girth well...make no mistakes...THAT'S a BIG WINCH. It is a merciless machine...if what I'm pulling snags something, here I come as the truck is flat dragged nearly...
ALL Detroit and GM two strokes are supercharged with blowers. They will absolutely not run otherwise. Singe and twin turbo upgrades are the way to make power above and beyond the baseline with two or four stroke applications. 3208's for example, four stroke normally aspirated (N/A) goes to...
I got a N/A 1160 225hp in mine. 90 more HP than stock is nice. Oh, 1160 is basically became the 3208. Same long block, different timing housing and inj pump. 225hp is most of 1160 and 3208 N/A engines. 3208 go to turbo over 210hp. Mine is low mile reman. These motors don't have cylinder...
As soon as I find the right vise I'll be fabbing up a plate that will insert behind the front front bumper in it's 'kicked back' area to make a sturdy mount. ...just looking for the right size vice, many times I could have used it already.
I've had Selectro's on my Rockwell Axled M715 for several years. Prolly have 3,000 miles on them with no problems. Ouverson units ARE better units. I've had both of them apart side by side on a bench to compare. Ouverson's do stick out a bit further which, if any, might be the only drawback...
