I gotta say I don't get this thread. They don't all have rust especially on the west coast. Transmissions are easy to swap in a couple hours and cheap. Go to a body shop and ask their hourly rate. I'd do a transmission swap in a second before fixing rust. If it has rust i'd avoid it period.
Well, If you had your deuce that's parked in my yard re-located to MI, you could just look at it's heater installation for reference. (sorry I couldn't resist).
There's no telling how long it sat before you got the truck, things leak air gets in etc. If it's not adjusted right, that didn't just happen, and they prolly drove it like that.:cookoo:
Is anyone going from the GA rally towards WI? I, (the wife really) has a M37 w/w that needs to go north to WI (or west to WY or SD). If anyone has any thoughts please post up. Worst case, i'll get MACCUS and we'll drive down for the GA rally in 2012.
The best money you guys could spend would be to go to the GA rally this weekend even if it's only for a day. Guarantee you will learn alot about deuces and 99% sure you will drive one if you want.2cents
I had to reverse how they mount compared to MACCUS's lights (mine absolutely wouldn't work) I shortned the uprights 3/8", re-drilled, reversed the clamps and it works great. (notice the bullet hole?).
