After looking through the committee materials, it looks like we are going to be saddled with this one. I have not looked up yet to see what they consider a violation. It looks like if you do 3 violations, you are back to a regular license plate. It also lists that there are 110,000 collector...
Here is a photo from last summer at the park for the 4th of July. Hope this works. It is my first time trying to put a picture up. This truck is a 67. It has 3 tires that are marked 1967. they are pretty weather checked so have been thinking of getting a few more rims and getting some other...
Mine is 12/53, Serial number 68014, with a hood number of 20997729. Seems like the hood number is long, but it is an original vehicle with Vietnam era adhesive numbers applied.
US ARMY is centered above the hood number.
Was anyone able to make it to the hearing today? How did it go?
I would agree that making the vehicle identifiable by its plate should be done. On my 1953, I have an original plate, not the state issued collector vehicle plate. It would seem that they could make an administrative change to...
Congratulations on your acquisition. Nice looking truck. I especially enjoyed the pic of your Germany truck with its raised white letter Goodyears. I drive a 67, 3F 5632 and it still has the original Goodyear tires.
This seems like a variation of the old, crank for a few seconds and let it sit for about 10 seconds and crank again. This allows heat to build up in the cylinder and if you have decent compression it will usually start. We used to start an old Cat this way when I was young.
When I got my 5T...
It is scheduled for House Hearing Rm. B at 1330. You may want to check the House calendar that day. Monday's they are pretty good about keeping on schedule, but it does start to slide as the week progresses. While someone may want to take their big truck, parking is a premium around there...
Good job you guys. Way to keep after it. I was in Oly on Friday and had a friend look it up and he was thinking that it probably would not pass out of committee. But if someone is available to be there on Tuesday, it does look good if someone or a few are able to sign in at the hearing as...
With a Sultan address, you might also keep your eye on the rural fire departments. They have quite a few 2 1/2 and 5 Tons. Sometimes if you ask they are willing to part with them, but haven't put them up for auction yet.
Sorry still haven't got my homework done on this. Thank you Mike for sending the short version.
Pretty much what it means is that as of this date, unless you have a vehicle that is 1971 or older, you can't do a collector plate. Since many of the vehicles that we own are trucks, in WA you...
WA State collector vehicle owners. There is a bill in the house in Olympia that is making the rounds, HB 1933. They are trying to extend the years from 30 to 40 year for a collector or historic vehicle. I just got a copy of this on Friday and have not had time to research it yet. If you do...
Dan thank you for the lunch yesterday. the engine swap was a definite learning experience, thanks for that as well.
Thank you also to Stuart for turning out. It would have been a lot less productive day without his piece of equipment on site.
It is fun to put some names and faces with the site...
Aaron, am still on track for meeting time we talked about. I will be picking up a rider in Rainer on our way through, so you guys could go on to the hardware store, while I stop to pick him up. Peter L.
Update time. I took it in to Organizational maintenance (a local diesel shop). They pulled the injectors and had them rebuilt. It seems one injector was clogged and a couple were out of pressure balance. Also I had a leaking injector line from the pump to the injector.
I talked to one of...
Their hangar is pretty full of aircraft and once they set the tables up for the show, there is not much floor space. But they have allowed inside displays before. You should give the museum a call and ask for Teri. She is the Director. If you are looking at bringing vehicles, there is plenty...
This is a nice show and the museum has been doing it for 3 or 4 years as a fundraiser. And besides how often do you get to spend quality time with a P-51 or Cobra?
Might be another location for a good mini rally. It is at the Olympia, WA airport. The airport was a P38 base during WW2.
OFM will be hosting their annual Military Collectibles Display and Sale. Saturday March 12, 2011. They welcome anyone wishing to buy, sell, or trade military gear. Please call 360 705 3925 for info or table rental.
You can check the museum out at, olympicflightmuseum.com .
Please count me in. I am not sure what, but will drive something military. Will make a decision as the time gets closer, depending on what is running at the time. Don't have an airshow to contend with this year so should be in for the duration.
Am not former military, just like green stuff.
Hope the battery was it. You should also have a preheater switch to the left of the steering column. Were you using that when cranking? An old trick for starting Cats, was to crank for 10 to 15, let it set for about 10 seconds, crank again and they would usually start up, with out using...
Hold on to your hats following Stuart. I followed him on 405 from the airshow at Paine field, in my POV towing the jeep, and he has no problem doing 60. It is very impressive watching that Hemett fly down the highway.
