FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Hey, there was clean, nice fluid in there. Thanks for making me finally check that. Anyway, overall length (to inside of cap) is 5-9/16, high is at 1-7/8, low is at 1". Give or take a 16th.

Mystery squeal under power. Name that tune?

Ah, yes, I remember those signs from when my Jeep arrived in Norfolk. That was the beginning of a 3-month cross country trip...on as much dirt as possible, of course.

    Got snow(white) there in VA?

I should check the P/S fluid, so I can take measurements tomorrow.

Indians? I thought they were Native Americans this week. Unlike the other millions of people born in the USA, who are... Yeah, where did that thread go??

Yeah, but one would think that once they got farther west, and realized that the land went on for a ways, they'd change the name accordingly. After all, we're not in India, even though Columbus thought he was.

Oh, the fictional one is way east of the middle of the USA. If you divide the country in half, then split the western half in two, you get the center of the actual midwest.

Dang. I need to win the lottery so that I can buy a spare SEE. Didn't roll it while cleaning out the irrigation ditches last year (came very close, though), but now that I think I know how to run this machine...

Oh, sorry. Scott's at Expedition Imports. Glad I could help...if it indeed helps your starting, too.

Maybe this isn't SEE and HMMH specific, but might be helpful nonetheless; Didn't get a battery "key" with the SEE so I used a red one off a regular, cheap battery disconnect switch. It worked fine...for a while. Once it got colder (or maybe that didn't have much to with it) the SEE wouldn't...

S.E.E. not just for septic tank work

Tony, Now you, too, can get the pair. There are two HMMHs coming up on the 27th. Can't be all that many left, if indeed only 290 were made. Took mine a for a short drive today, finally, and the rebuilt crane cylinders seem happy again. Even got the suspension lockout working (with a weld and...

S.E.E. not just for septic tank work

Tony, there are four SEEs coming up for auction next Wednesday. Just do it!

I, too, bought the SEE as a tool - That the actual tools and various bits and pieces were still in the tool box was a welcome bonus. Would've never went out and bought any of them, but since I have them I'll likely keep them. Who knows when the need to break up some concrete arrives. Might just...

I just knew there was a reason I didn't care for the chainsaw. Well, I don't like regular ones, either. If a tree must come down, it's more fun to winch it down with the Jeep.

Lucked out and got all three, and then some, with the SEE, but haven't considered selling them. Unless, of course, I can trade the chainsaw for an impact wrench - the HMMH was completely empty. Today's lack-of-progress report: Two of the cylinders on the crane leaked. Took them to a shop to get...

    HME, SEE, HMMH same chassis?

I'd love to have that lockout on the rear of the SEE, but as it is the one on the HMMH isn't even working (cracked reservoir - which I don't even know where to fill, or with what yet). And, yes, that lockout system seems complex. The first thing I noticed was "air noise" when depressing the...

    HME, SEE, HMMH same chassis?

Neither did I...until I realized that I needed a forklift with more capacity than my M6040 Kubota (with fork attachment) could muster, and the "sky hook" wanna-be crane I built for it. But if I could only have one, I'd keep the SEE. It'd be too time consuming to clean irrigation ditches with a...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

Alright, this might be a long shot, but does anyone here happen to know what kind of fluid goes in the front suspension lockout on an HMMH? This is by no means an urgent request. First I need to repair the cracked plastic reservoir, and also figure out where the heck one is supposed to fill it...

Running a unimog engine backwards - Inadvertently

Don't forget to drain out the extra fuel from the tank. Of course, unless the tank was near full and you didn't run the engine backwards very long, it's a non-issue.

Well, I use my SEE around the house a lot, too. That sure beats trying to use it inside the house.
