The biggest reason for rear end up, is the 2 axles 'fighting' each other. This is caused mostly by one axle having larger diameter tires than the other. A slight difference doesnt take much. If you have 1psi more in one tire than the other, it can create the issue...

You could, but it would be easier to just plug a new relay in. Besides, without the 24v load, the relay will last forever most likely.

AJM is exactly right. Just run all your power to the front battery... Now... that said........ With that kind of draw, your charging system might not keep up. One also has to ask, why in tarnation would you need 2000 watts in a pickup? I used to run 240 watts in my old civvy chevy, and you...

The relay that causes this is not on the starter, its under the dash.

Ok... just needed to make sure. Another thing i have noticed, is the fuse box can have poor contact on the headlight fuse....

the ign switch should have alot more than 2 wires on it...

Mine has a western on it. Do a search for 1009 snow plow and you should find it. Didya find the SS area at aberdeen?

It could be done... but, leaving the relay as is, you could keep the truck relativly easy to swap back to 24v for a 'future' need...

They do, do a search for 'starter relay' and you should find hte part #'s

Yes, what happens, is the relay sticks... forcing the starter to run forever. This overheates the wires, and starts them to melt. The relay's sole purpose, is to take the 12v wire that the ignition switch uses for 'start' and uses it to switch 24v feeding the starter.

What makes you say a ground issue? I would be more inclined to say its a direct short in your blackout lights.

Actually both crossmembers are teh same, its the pedastal that they tranny/transfercase attach to, that is different.
