Welcome and although a fuse can look good it can still be bad. Swing by a Wally World or any auto parts place or Radio Shack and get a cheap meter. That will greatly aid your troubleshooting.
Swing by the Harbor Freight store closest to you (I see two) in your area and just by the cheapest meter they have or it may be in a sale flyer for free.
Throw it in the truck to have with you all the time.
Correct, I only said that about drilling because that is what almost everyone does. I hope you kept the part number or link to the pulley you used because I might want to try it sometime.

My replacement alternator would not self-excite at idle so no, just starting the truck up would not charge. I have put several single wire units on MVs and a backhoe and you have to bump the RPMs up after starting to get the alternator to start working.

I have had Deuces (A2s and A3s), M809s and M939s either towed or driven to our farm over the years. I usually go through them checking out the truck.
The last one was a very nice M939 and I checked it over and it was fine. Owner picked it up and got 40 miles before the alternator pulley broke...
Now THAT'S a welder.
If it were at a rally it would be counted as a military vehicle as it was used in the Army. Just like flight line vehicles used by the Air Force.
