That is one of that major problems with the classiffied ads . Members don't maintain their ads and when they posted they checked the auto renew box . You can click on the members name and it will take you to their profile if they have less than 100 posts it's a old ad ( at least 8 months ) it...
It would make sense that the gear ratios are all the sameso they could just stock 1 chunk that fits all 3 axels , they all have front and back pinions so placement wouldn't matter .
You should take the lockout apart and see why the screws won't tighten . Check for wore threads ect. , if its clunking odds are it will fail when you need it.

Did you inspect anything prior to driving it home , your just lucky it happened at your house and not on the highway.
Just because a truck looks to be in "minty condition" dosen't mean it is mechanicly safe to be on the road , nice paint dosen't mean much except for pictures . The old harley guys have a saying " chrome don't get you home " refering to the guys that stick all their money in chrome and paint...

Did you inspect the torque rod for cracks prior to driving over the gopher hole ? every auto and truck maker has had recall
every now and then mass produced parts have a few defective ones pass through . And for such a "minty condition truck you sure are having alot of problems .

With proper maintainence the torque rods have served the military just fine for the last 50 years . The design allows for maximum travel of the axels in off-road conditions . These trucks were not designed for daily drivers on the highway . The miltary does regular preventive maintainence on...
