The turbo 6.5 seems to perform very well loaded or unloaded. It will blast up hills at 75 mph unloaded, with the 21,000 gcwr it was only able to maintain 55 mph uphill in overdrive. If you are looking for an easy power plant upgrade for a CUCV, drop in a NA AM General 6.5, add the GM side...
I would start with a very high pressure hot water pressure washer. Looks like your truck left the factory tan and then uncle painted it green with the usual zero prep work. Hopefully most of the green will come off. You want to paint over the factory tan. If you resort to chemical paint...
I think I figured it out. This pictured unit is a model MIL-24U10ANQ and the mounting hole pattern is right for my (and other?) GoDov trucks. I am not crazy about SF's mounting this upside down so I believe I will make U straps so it will be right side up. I think Crapgame's picture above...
Has anyone figured out which model inverter fits on the GoDov GMVs? The mounting bolt pattern is 10X10.5 and that does not suit any of the models of Dimensions Inverters. (EDIT: EXCEPT ONE, see post 14) See attached spec sheet. The inverter in the SOF2 pictures above is much much bigger...
OMG this is a stunning vehicle, FINALLY something good looking after these silly looking designs from Oshkosh and the ITV. Put me down for the first one out from GovP.
Well you are in luck, the Goat TMs are available on this site, go to forums/technical manuals/Korean to Viet Nam era vehicles. I have never separated the tractor from the trailer, wouldn't think this is a good idea, but the truck is set up to come apart there. You have to reconnect the yaw...
Welcome Joe. The air entrainment can happen due to very un obvious sources. Usually return hoses that you would think would leak but don’t. Other sources are slave piston seals. I don’t know which Caiman you have, there is the MTV chassis version and the Caiman 2 with independent...
Well in that case that is fixable. Remove the dashboard and remove all rust, get a piece of angle iron to back it from underneath, attach it with rivets, epoxy, screws, welding. Prime with cold galvanizing paint, then topcoat.
Is that the tip of the iceberg, meaning how are the sills under the doors? If those and the rear cab panel area are all rusted out then yes, swap cabs.
If you are getting oil out the drain hole that is not black engine oil, make sure the transmission oil level is at least 1" below the fill hole. if it's overfilled then drain out and clean the clutch in situ using solvent such as brake cleaner.
