as it may compromise the internal glass lining.
What is this??? Glass lined injection lines????? Mine are shattered for sure. I must have broken glass in my delivery nozzles. I have never heard of such a thing. I stood idly by while a man told another man that he changed the spark plugs on...
I decided to install the torque / strut rod on Terminus M1009. If for nothing else to keep the trails clean and free of transfer case debris. It is a 5 minute install. About 1/2 hour cleaning the bolt holes. I used a .99 cent battery brush and cleaned them out. the threads were clean enough to...
Saturday AM. This brush guard was on a scrap pile in up state Pennsylvania. It made an amazing transformation. From $20. scrap to the welding table. To 1/2 hour of grinding and 2 hours of sanding. Primed sprayed with bed-liner. Yesterday it went on the truck. Mad Cow Disease has a new face. Mr...
I cleaned out the M16 bolt holes on the NP208 transfer case. I used an awl and then a .99 cent battery brush. It worked perfect. I was able to clean them and blow them out good enough to turn the bolts in by hand. I will install the strut / torque rod after work today. I could not load pictures...
A bit of Butterscotch in the front differential. Flushed and wiped it out good and used The Right Stuff on the cover plate and of course painted it. 3 weeks till adventure time. I spent a bit of time scouring around for an air filter housing to modify. I cut the intake horn from a 1990 Chevrolet...
3 bad u joints, 2 leaking seals. And a drive shaft in a PINE tree.
Terminus M1009 is getting a rebuilt front drive shaft. It required new paint so I thought a bit of blue was in order. I like the new front drive shaft. It has 4 standard grease fittings. Easy to maintain.
The dots should line up gear tooth to gear tooth. Rotate the engine a few revolutions and make sure they are dead on and you are good to go. I am assuming you still have the timing cover off the front of the engine. Good Luck.
Tinstar I can imagine you might get a bit steamed if you opened your hood and seen this engine. I will be washing down this engine maybe. Maybe not. This is the engine in my Terminus M1009. Runs great and starts right up on the first crank. Dirt makes an easy way to find leaks. Mine looks pretty...
Today I worked on Terminus M1009. I made a deal with my Son. He removes all the bent steel from the underside and I would sand and prime the new brush guard. He was done rather quickly. I had him drain the transfer case and the front differential. I also noticed the front pinion seal was leaking...
It could be coming from the injection pump area. There is a drain hole in the rear of the upper block valley that drains into the back of the block and under the bottom fly wheel cover. Fluid leaks are hard to find but always look up stream and work from there. Remove the fly wheel cover and see...
You deserve it. I was traveling yesterday on and at 70 MPH the Silverado is whisper quiet. My Son even said. I am glad we did not drive the CUCV. He said we would be twice as tired and yelling the whole day. I was surprise since he drives this.Everyday on the interstate. No thank you. He is...
Checked in on my hidden project. It's still there. IOt seems to look better everytime I look at it. Now all I can see is a topless M1009. This is the Mad Cow Disease brush guard will on the operating table. Sawzall, grinder, square and a welder and we can redesign. We can rebuild it and make it...
I was up in Northern Pennsylvania today and I seen a CUCV brush guard at a garage sale along the road. I seen new GM boxes of sheet metal parts and that caught my eye. The sheet metal was all NON truck related. But I seen 1 brush guard. I was on my way to fix a tractor and knew I had access to a...
I will be doing the same in a few days. i know flare nuts can be difficult at times. Best deal is to start everything by hand / finger tight. They should be clean and lubed well enough that they spin freely on the steel line. That helps a great deal. Not sure what problem you are encountering...
The bolt that holds the bracket to the block was a grade 8 1/2" hex head, 5/16x18 thread. I had to run it through a die to clean up the threads as it was loose on the old starter and had the threads beat up.
I had a friend call me about a month ago and ask me if I was correct in the starter...
