Great story. Thank you for sharing it. I also am impressed with the new Chevrolet trucks. I like my old ones but the new ones are much more comfortable and easier to maintain. Good Luck on your purchase. If you were in High Country you were in high $ dollars $. I am in WT country and still...
I see nothing wrong with that. They appear to be done while being assembled. Either way it will have no effect on the radiator at all. And once the "Caution Fan" cover is on you will never see it. good Luck. I think you made a great purchase. I have several and am very happy with them. I also...
On the outside it was the outer rib of the Michelin. When you looked inside it was right on the border of the side was and tread. But if I had to call it and the US was the tread and the side wall was Mexico. It was still in sovereign US territory and legal. The man that patched it said he would...
I was out driving on I81 North with the roll back and I noticed the steering wheel was off center and it was pulling to the right. I was hauling a civilian K5 Blazer and pulled off at an exit. the right front tire was low in air. These are brand new tires on the truck. They are Michelins 19.5...
cucvrus, If ya EVER wanna part with that sales badge, PLEASE, lemme know. No pressure, enjoy it.
I also have some of the original 1984 pamphlets/booklets that have 1984 Chevrolet trucks features and a picture and brief paragraph about the CUCV with different camouflage paint featured.
Same thing happened to me with my Mule M1009. I bought a new Silverado and the salesmen wanted to buy my Mule M1009. At the time I had just completed rebuilding it and was not interested in selling it. I still have a sales badge from 1984 that says Chevy Trucks with the bolts around the bow tie...
I picked up a couple seat belts from vehicle assembly that were dirty and had a light damage. Pefect for the fuel tank straps. i like it better then tar paper. I glued them fast to the straps and installed the fuel tank. It was a bit tight. But i managed to get the straps started and tightened...
I am sure we have all looked closely at the fuel tank saddles and straps. If not now is the time to do so. I needle blasted and wire brushed these saddles really good. I primed and painted them and added a new set of Spectra fuel tank straps. Less then $20. After painting and coating the saddles...
ACDELCO Part # 12472199
ACDELCO Part # 12472200
I just bought a pair from the GM dealer. They were made in China. (Mainland). They fit OK but not the best. You will play heck getting them in the clamp at the rear while the engine is still in the vehicle. My engine was on the floor and I...
Are they anything rare or just something like a 7/16 x 1in
The bolt hole in the block for the starter support bracket is an M8 metric hole. So don't try anything but a metric bolt. The starter support stud is a 1/4" stud. I use a 1/4" flanged nylock nut on that stud. Good Luck.
Whats wrong with this picture? I got ahead of myself and assembled the right side with the E brake cable above the leaf springs. When I went to fix it the wave washer on the E brake arm under the drum went into orbit. The E clip failed. Glad it done it now. It slowed me up for about an hour for...
They don't make heavy duty clamps like this anymore. I have had these in my shop for 30 years. They are GM clamps. M10 X 1.5 2 1/2" clamps. I drilled the metal extension from the universal tail pipe hangers and just used the rubbers and the swinger attachment. Very heavy duty tail pipe hangers...
I took Terminus M1009 apart 2 weeks ago. I already have Mud Dabbers building nests in the differential cover bolt holes. I tapped them out and cleaned the mud and spiders from the holes. This is the center pin C Clip lock pin bolt. This is the old one. TOSS the OLD one. Never use the old bolt...
During my reassembly I cleaned all the parts. I took notice that the right e-brake spreader bar was on the left side and vise versa. I only done 1 side at a time like always when I changed the brakes on Terminus M1009 2 years ago. I also want to point out if you never changed the rear wheel...
This is the axle shaft that I removed from Terminus M1009. The bearing surface is rough and the seal surface has a deep groove worn in it. I suspect it was like that when I put it in. I never took notice and at the time I was just putting an axle in to check it out for drive ability. Well after...
