Presents for Terminus M1009. Brakes front and rear. Rear axle bearings and axle seals. Rear wheel cylinders. New C Clip pin lock bolt. You ever need something and have to look hi and low to find one. Beats a trip to town. Front brakes are completed. Back to work.
Going back out to work on Terminus M1009 and mow grass. All work and no play makes me get a lot of work done. Also makes play time more enjoyable. Full progress report when I come back in. I have a box full of new parts to install today. Better get at it. Daylight is burning away.
I just had this transfer case resealed and checked out. It cost me $250. I could take it apart and put it back together. That part is easy. It is knowing everything about the tolerances and settings that I let up to an experienced transmission shop. They warrant the work. I have been dealing...
I use Permatex The Right Stuff on my transfer cases when I fix leaks. Most times i have the transmission and transfer case resealed at the transmission shop. But I do use the right stuff for just about everything else. I have great results.
I cut off both tailpipe hangers. They were not doing to much anyway. I will be pulling on a pair of universal tail pipe hangers. The tail pipes are 2 1/2". Bigger then stock. That was the first thing I done to Terminus M1009. I had a new exhaust installed front to back. No glass packs nice quiet...
Looks like all I have is a slightly rusty GMC Jimmy. That will work. I cut it off entirely. Now I must cut it to fit Terminus M1009. Easy. I found a blade. Fair game. It has a bit of rust but not a much as the one I removed. I am NOT restoring this M1009. If I wanted to I still could but that...
Ever since I rescued Terminus M1009 from the junk yard/crusher it has had this ugly 1/4 steel patch haphazardly welded in place on the left 1/4 panel. It also had expanding foam inside and was always a bees nest location. Every year a bees nest was in it. Time for eviction. Forceful eviction...
A few pictures of the M1008 CUCV parts I sealed and coated last night. A new fuel tank, a like new fuel tank skid plate and the OEM radiator core support. They were rained on today. That is fine the parts are dry to the touch. I will let them sit till next week and install them on the frame at...
Never let rain stop your progress. NEVER.I quickly removed the 1/4 glass from Terminus M1009. I had something else in mind. I installed a set of GM sliders from a 1990 K5 that I have in the field for parts. No use letting them go to waste. Adds a nice touch to such a clean nice original M1009. I...
I seen his pictures and I made him the parts offer based on pictures he showed. They are NOT very helpful pictures. They are pictures of worn out damaged NP 208 transfer case parts that died from lack of lubrication. Some scored shafts and busted needle bearings. Nothing to learn from them...
I have a few NP 208 cases that have broken housings. All the parts were good. You are welcome to drive down and take any parts you need. I have an NP241 that needs half a case also. T cases that are broken I have a lot of. Most forklift damage.
No I don't think so. I think they just specked out the CUCV back in the early 80's and someone high up accepted the prototype they built and said "Yes we want 75,000 units built just like that one" and being it was a different model year that is the motor mounts they were using at the time. just...
You gotta LOVE IT. How my shear mention of adding these torque/strut rods to a CUCV has become an E=mc2 moment.

Anyway I do like the computer animation here.
Thank you Rustystud for understanding fully my end results from this addition of a few steel rods. Now...
Sir I just went down this road last week. I bought an A C Delco Made in Mexico. I bought a NAPA Made in Mexico. I bought an Autozone Made in Mexico. All looked the same. I would guess made in the same plant. I peeled the NAPA sticker off and it had a OEM sticker under it. The Autozone had an AC...
assuming the window is wet every time. Mine get stuck on clean dry glass after 3 strokes of dry glass. With the hose blasting them they wipe like champs. Check the voltage and amperage at the wiring if that helps. I am not an electrical guy but I would and could find the problem if I looked at...
Is this an exact stock replacement?
Yes it is an exact replacement. I have not attempted an installation yet. But first look was very favorable. It looks well made and has all the holes and fittings in the right place. I will report back on my installation efforts with pictures. I still...
I can tow my tractor now 12,000 lbs with trailer and rarely reach 190deg.
I can tow an 80,000 lb tractor trailer up hill. I can't stop it going down hill. (And have done so) If you have a 12K trailer with tractor I hope your brakes hold out and the trailer brakes are fully operational. I am...
The line that runs to the radiator is 3/4" and the line that runs to the water pump is 5/8" so they do have 2 different size heater hoses. You can see it on the heater core inlet pipes. One is 5/8 and 1 is 3/4". I also suggest changing all the hoses, the by pass hose (5/8) and all 4 water plate...
