    m1009 engine to civilian truck

Even better. You will need to add the pilot bearing to the crank shaft for your SM465 but you should have everything you need between both trucks.

    New Guy with M101A3

Can you post a picture from the back. I want to put 235/85R16 tires and rims (CUCV) on my A3 but I feared that the wide axle would make them stick out of the fenders.

    m1009 engine to civilian truck

The only significant differences are the alts and mounts. Basic long block is the same. Depending on what tranny you have, may need a TPS on the IP but you should have that on the blown engine.

    Noob Glow Plug Question!

I just put 070s in my truck. Well, 7 of them. The 8th was not cooperating and I didn't risk breaking it off. Probably don't need 8 here in FL anyways. The plugs fit the factory harness. Should I be considering A/C 60G plugs? Also, if one was expecting a gp to break off, what preparations...

    Where to buy manuals.

If you prefer paper, reach out to member Stonepicker1. He has (or had) complete sets of uncirculated CUCV manuals.

M1009 front bearing replacement project: Advice needed on what else to replace

Most details have already been covered. I would retain the old bearings or at least one wheels worth. Clean them and pack them in grease in a freezer ziplock and stow them in the truck. Super cheap insurance in the event a bearing goes away on the road.

A geared lugwrench will also split them apart. +1 on the porkchop.

Crap. Found this broken large bolt in driveway, with pic.

I ordered the 3 brackets and a sack of bolts from GMParts Direct.

What model K5 Blazer is the M1009?

    Mine says no smoking.

    First Time Starting Problem..

I would assume that the fuel pressure switch in the filter housing is letting fuel bleed back down. Usually that is the cause. Others may have more pertinant info.

Pinky, my M1009, is down for the count

Bummer. Glad Pinky sacrificed to keep you vertical.

    700R4 and NP205?

I think the 241 came into play in 89 or 90. I have one of these with a 700 ready for one of my CUCVs.

    700R4 and NP205?

Tons of half tons, blazers and half ton burbs had the 700R4/ 208 combo. One of the easier finds in the 80s.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately? - Part 1

In the past there was some banter about the weight of the 6TL (70#) causing inner fender well cracks on that rear battery mount. Dual optimas is about 10# more than that so consider this when choosing what tray to use. It would be nice to relocate the fronts so that you and utilize the cold air...

    A lil confussed

I've never had an issue with the resistor failing, more of the cascading effect of fried glow plugs when one burns out and the voltage goes up in the others.

    A lil confussed

I don't have a strong knowlege of electonics but from my reading I understand that the whole resistor deal was to facilitate slave starting. I fail to understand how it helps for that but just the same, I left my resistor in place and ready for deployment should it be necessary. My bypass was...
