    cab air springs

I think they have air pressure to them when the truck is running and they are engaged

    CTIS truck-side ECU connector

I may have an extra harness in one of my parts trucks. Not sure how far it gets weaved into the general truck wiring though.

    cab air springs

I wonder if they wont take air from the system to keep them up unless you have a certain pressure already. To preserve air for braking if air supply is low for some reason.

    cab air springs

I leave mine locked in and on all the time. The manual says to deflate for offroading though. I think its a simple system im not sure there is a sensor I think they behave almost like a shock absorber.

    cab air springs

The manual does describe it. You can unpin them for road driving there is a control at the bottom of the bottom right of the manifold box that will inflate them. They cushion the cab when driving.

LMTV M1078 Transmission Fluid Change To ATF Write Up

Nice. Its hard to tell from the pics how did the old filters look? I think part of the downshift to starting gear is due to it being geared so low. Will

I'm not feeling good about putting anything loose into the tires if you have a functional ctis system. It will only lead to problems. The ctis valves have rubber flappers that hold air in the tire. A piece of something that comes out and gets stuck in the valve will cause a flat tire fast. And...

Have the driveshaft balance checked. Or the yoke could be slightly bent. The mech said anything slightly off can cause all kinds of issues.

You would have to disable the ctis with the balancing stuff. Justin Whering said he had good luck with balancing tires I dont believe he used anything in the tires.

Ok went thru the manuals again with one of the mechs. Axle vents appear to go into the ctis quick release system. If you have a clogged release valve maybe ctis air is making its way into the axle. A way to test this is to take out the top plug on the diff and air up the ctis then dump air and...

Take the wheels off if its an east coast truck chances are there is mud caked on the rim where you cant see. This is what I found when I changed over to newer rims and tires.

    LMTV/MV Safety Improvements

Right in front of the heater box before the cab floor hump comes up over the engine seems like a weak point in a collision. Maybe some type of under reinforcement there along with a metal grill integrated into the cab front to distribute an impact more evenly across.

    too much air pressure

Yup I would replace the ppv. If it's stuck then horn and wipers won't have air.

Bad wiring to my regulator on my 1995 M1083

You have to lift the breaker panel. Its not hard to do its 8 or so phillips screws the frame comes up with it. The kick has to come off so you can run the wire thru. On the left side of the breaker panel are 3 posts 12v 24v and ground. Other side of those are bolts with power wires to them. The...

Maybe there are check valves along the lines. Disconnect your axle breather lines and install some temporary ones run up high. Is your ctis disconnected? I will ask one of the mechs I know about it.

    LMTV and Deep Water Fording

It looks like the vents go into the air brake system or the ctis and to the quick release valves.

Do you know if air can be blown thru the rear axle vent? The manuals are not big on diagrams they are more flow chart troubleshooting. Personally I like diagrams I can lay out and devise my own troubleshooting. On the older trucks there are vents on the axles. When those vents are blocked up you...

Bad wiring to my regulator on my 1995 M1083

It's a dual voltage alternator with 12 volt and 24 volt outputs. There is a 12 volt and 24 volt regulator input. Probably easier for you to get 12 and 24 (individually fuse each wire at the box connection with waterproof fuse holder 20a is good) at the polarity protective box under the spare...
