I think the brakes work fine. To me at least I think there is significantly less air brake delay than the m939 trucks. The first variant trucks do not have abs. This is an A1 that did have abs. I think someone was just not paying proper attention. Convoys usually do not travel at high speed.
Here are some pics I thought I would share. This truck was in a convoy that had to stop quick. This truck hit the back of the truck in front of it. The impact was a bit offset towards the passenger side. Not sure about how fast they were traveling when it happened. Both driver and passenger had...
The repair TM should have a specific procedure. The first variant TM should have it and it should be the same for your A1. Maybe the hydraulic cab raise/lower comes into play for this.

I thought the first one a few weeks ago was just one of those "fluke" things but after hearing from someone else I know that the same thing just happened to it seems to be a possible issue. There are a lot of m939 trucks in private hands I haven't heard of one throwing a clutch and fan. In the...
I wonder if your ppv is stuck then no air to governor and no air to compressor unloader from governor to stop making pressure and the same unloader air feed tells the air dryer to vent the expello valve on the bottom to dump moisture.
The fan clutch bolts seem to have a bad habit of coming loose. You have to air-to-release the clutch and you can rotate it to access the bolts. The fan clutch can come apart and throw the fan and front of clutch assembly. Its not pretty I have seen it twice in the last few months. One person...
Did you loosen the bleeder screw top back of the ip towards the front 2 turns should do it. Then press the primer pump a 100 times or so. You can also air prime if you have an extra fuel cap you can drill a hole and put a schrader valve stem in.
Allison guide says it could be a plugged vent or drain back holes plugged up. I found something else online not for this specific trans but an Allison truck trans that said in cold weather viscous fluid could build up by the vent and as the trans comes up to temp, expansion can push it out the...
Its been really cold the last 2 nights. Like 10 degrees. The fluid/oil is probably pretty thick at that point. There may be a safety relief somewhere on the trans for excess pressure. The transfer case is all wheel drive with a computer controlled power split and cannot be put into neutral...
You can use a hmmwv self cancelling blinker the electrical connector is the same. There are holes in the back side of the steering wheel to put some screws so it cancels when you turn the wheel back straight.
I have had the 1600s I didnt think they were that heavy. The wrecker is more stable on duals than singles I think it would be unsafe on 1600s the center of gravity would just be too high.
You dont want to put that whole quick release valve piece back on it didnt belong there in the first place. I have new replacement valves with the proper piece. You can temporarly screw a bolt or something in the hole to plug it. You might be able to use a small screwdriver or half a needlenose...
