He does have a 5ton parts truck with the winch still on it but he told me the first time he wouldnt take parts off. The stuff I got was loose in the bed. I want to go back tomorrow but I'm afraid of getting run off by a shotgun. (not to mention the dirty look I got from the wife for bringing...
Well cash speaks when you can hear the crusher running in the background. I went by afterwork today and had my little trailer with me just incase. I did talk him out of the winch I had offered him over $200 for and a few other parts about 2 months ago. He balked at the offer and took my number...
Do any of those documents, (phone, cable, gas bills ) have the same adress as on your DL? if they do Id try that but with the DL not having a current adress I think that is going to cause you problems. Not to mention your supposed to get your DL adress changed within a certain time limit of moving.
Along with GL there are usually local Gov. type places (local county seats and fire depts) that have yearly surplus auctions. Keep an eye out for those. You can pick up some MV's that way too. See my avatar? That came from my local county surplus auction.
The one 1009 was sitting out front and I thought it was one of his workers or relatives truck so I never even asked about it.
Sitting out front as in where customers usually park. it wasnt with the scrap stuf
Motorpool, I understand what your saying and yes I agree its his business and he has every right to make a buck. But...
He has a sheet on his desk with the parts I looked at and a price (way, way more than what he will get from the crusher) and my phone#. If he was a business man he would have...
Welcome to the site. When it comes to MV's just remember no one can own just one. Be ready to explain to your friend just why you own 2 camo colored pick-ups or why your camo trucks keep getting bigger and bigger evey time you trade up.
I know it. And Im sitting here knowing I have a Job over in Junction City tomorrow and I'll want to go over there and see if I can save anything but I dont want to give him the satisfaction. I might walk in with cash in and with my original offer and tell him last chance to get more than scrap...
I know what you mean. I would have posted up the left over parts if this guy was willing to deal and let me have little parts. I even told him I was part of an internet forum and could probably get rid of a bunch of little stuff for him and he said no. ( and guys I dont mean I was going to buy...
I tried, I offered to bring my own tools and do the work my self and he wouldnt do it. I just kept getting "let me think about it and check back, I got a guy that wants to give me$$$ for that part" He just wanted to try to get me to keep upping my offer. I had to walk. I offered him more than...
I was told by that yard owner he would not part them out, buy the whole truck (at outrageous prices) or nothing at all. Thats was on the already parted out trucks. He told me he was not selling the complete trucks.
nspctr1, Go to the top of the page and click on the resources button, the click on Tech. Manuals. Find FM 20-22 and FM 5-125. Theres alot of good info in there.
Now that policy I can agree with. I know If I worked there I would get tired of people just leaving behind the stuff they didnt want.
You bought it, you take it.
Thats just GL. Has anyone ever gone to BestBuy to buy a tv and have them say "well, you'll have to go into the warehouse and get it yourself, we dont want to bang up your tailgate"
Its just another excuse for GL to piss off its customers. :soapbox:
Welcome to the site. Im just east of Manhattan. You should be able to find any info you need about your truck either already on the site, by using the search button, or if that doesnt work just ask and someone will have an answer.
