I think the guys experiencing spring wrap are using 105 springs and mounts with a lift block on top of the axle. Putting the trailer frame under the deuce frame removes the need for the block.
:-D If your already thinking of another MV then your hooked. Dont tear out the wiring, if it works then leave it and find some military lights to put back on it, converting them to 12v is not that hard.

Just a note, you can go to a local GL site to do a preview (actually look at and "touch") of the items you find online. (at that site) Then you can decide for yourself if you want to bid on it, otherwise youll be bidding just from the pictures online.

I think it would be wise to call the "Post" or "Base" ahead of time before going for any recovery. Access changes all the time, and can be different from base to base. Do not rely on what GL tell you. We all know how reliable they are.
Think of it like this, some people spend 5-10 grand on a 2-4week trip across Europe or Africa just for the adventure. If you have the money and the spirit of adventure in you it doesnt matter what it cost.
If you bob it your not going to be carrying 10k in it, I wouldnt.
I plan on doing mine that way but instead or welding it will get bolted, with fine thread grade 8 hardware.
Ive lost more than my fair share of u-joints on my first Jeep in high school before someone pointed that out to me. Everytime I replaced a u-joint I would just pull one end of the shaft off and replace it with out even thinking of it (after spinning the pinion a few time to check it to). Sure...
