have you droped the transmission pan ? it might not be catching inside the trans does it have rusted cab mounts the linkage gets out of adjustment when the cab mounts go

alot of duece owners don't even have a CDL I just post this because alot of people don't realize the requirements to move fuel . You can't just go out and buy a 600 gallon tank and chain it in the back of a duece and head down the highway. I'm ure it varies state to state but I know michigan...

keep in mind anything over about 100 gallons in any tanks other than fuel supply for truck will require a CDL with haz-mat endorsment and plac-cards

buy a old POS 4x4 to put a salt spreader in they destroy the frames. after about the second year the frame in front of front rear sping shackle will rot in half this was a problem with 73 to 87 gm frames . hate to see a CUCV put to abuse like that . I have had 1 myself do this and seen at least...

as 91w350 said check the u-joints first . all you need to do is jack it up with proper support , lock the hubs turn driveshaft you can see the u-joints without removing anything , open steering knuckes check drive shaft also. if they look good then pull the cover unless it needs a fluid change...

when I did the brakes on the duece in the middle of noware 6 foot of pipe woundn't break the lugs loose we blocked the truck up and got the local tire guy to break all the lugs loose for $25 bucks got his number on speed dial
