We did this type of bed install on JW4x4's truck two years ago at the Georgia Rally with a cordless drill. Just set the shortened bed on and drill up into the brackets. Put some Grade 8 bolts on and wire it up. (Yes, JW got nice pretty oak strips to put between the frame and bed.)

I suspect that during the first full day of the rally all the amateur operators will be having a meet and greet at the command tent with the CO. That way we can work on finalizing everything and talk about potential testing methodologies and getting CARNAC the coverage he wants for the medics...

I think we should pick a frequency for 2 meter operations beforehand. I was thinking somewhere around the normal simplex frequency. The GMRS will probably be whatever Mike used at Graves since it worked. If I can get setup early I may be on air as people get close. :-)

I highly suggest in the strongest possible terms that no one stay in the Holiday Lodge in Greensboro. Unless of course they tore it down and you are camping on the grave. I'm not kidding......

I have a good running winch truck that needs more paint than that one and I'm asking $6k for it. Might not get it but they aren't making any more of them, rare or not.

Except that on that weekend it would be more like a 750 mile drive. :-(
