I was watching TV Sat and a local car dealer had an MTVR on display as the cars passed in front of it for sale. Piquing my curiosity I called the dealer to see who owned it. The Marine Corps. The dealer was donating something and the USMC was there for pickup.

Now I have an antenna to use for my 2 meter. I also salvaged the 20 foot four section aluminium flagpole from the house we tore down. Very sturdy and pulls apart into 5 foot sections. Now to figure out a base for it or mounting to the side of my M101A2.

OD, You very rarely use an SWR meter on the 2 meter band. I was going to buy one but they are not that common and basically everything I read said you don't need one. (For 2m)
Now if someone has one that we can use it might be nice to...

I got my sample when I got back to work today.
I'm thinking that it is just not as thick as the fabric for the covers. The sample is labeled military tent. It surely isn't as thick as a command tent.
A photo would only show color since you can't get a feel for anything else. I'll compare it...
Yeah, but I get irked when things like that are brought up.
Sort of like us losing the Vietnam War when the last combat troops were pulled out two years before the place fell.
Sorry, they did not capture dozens of U.S. anything. They captured a bunch of Iraqi equipment we left for their soldiers.
They only thing they would be capturing of ours is bullets.

Although it would be nice if you were at the rally it is by far and away more important to take care of things on the home front first.

I finally saw it when I went out yesterday. I have racing stripes in the front yard and there will be pictures.....
You know what? I don't care. Most of it was mowed and my friends helped.
Now, will I let them forget it? Oh no. :-)
