Start simple....check that you have good solid hose connections on your fuel lines from the fuel tank to the injection pump, especially at the fuel filter. Check your fuel tank vent and blow out the vent line from the tank forward to the filter.

Bypass and forget about it....don’t forget to open your fill plug on the Tcase to drain the excess ATF, and don’t forget to fill the transmission back up.
Yes, a broken motor mount will allow blade contact with the shroud. Also contact will occur if you didn’t adjust the radiator stack and shroud correctly. Normally you will get contact when off road or any sort of body flexing, like going over even a speed bump at an angle.

Just clean the holes up, install plastic plugs as the mfg does on unused holes and paint the truck.
i do about 2 M1123’s a month...once painted you can’t see the plugs even a few feet from the truck unless you look.
